It looks like the heat will most definitely be turned up when Hollyoaks brings back its edgier spin-off Hollyoaks Later early next year.

The post-Christmas period will see the drama only intensifying in the Oaks when all of serial killer Breda McQueen's dirty deeds finally catch up with her in one jaw-dropping episode. Breda has previously concealed murdering, Louis Loveday, Russ Owen and Mac Nightingale but a recent slip-up has daughter Goldie thinking she killed Harry Thompson by accident. Only Tony Hutchinson knows the truth about Breda murdering Harry, but he's currently being held hostage on her pig farm. But will Hollyoaks Later finally see Breda go down in a blaze of glory?

Hollyoaks has at least confirmed that there will be a blaze with a new tweet themed for Bonfire Night on November 5, showing flames beginning to rage out of control. A caption warns: "Happy #BonfireNight! We hear another fire's coming... #HollyoaksLater January 2020".

The plot of Hollyoaks Later's return is being kept under wraps for now, but Breda actress Moya Brady has promised it "will put Tarantino to shame with its violence"

Sylver actor David Tag also recently confirmed he's "heavily involved" in Hollyoaks Later, adding "There's a lot of violence. The compliance rules are very different at that time of night. There's going to be a lot of blood - some from me, some coming from other people."

And lest anyone thinking they'd seen the last of Mercedes following her shooting in Tuesday's first-look episode on E4, Jennifer Metcalfe will be back for an episode that she promises will "push it with a bit more gore".
