Exclamation Casualty Spoilers 5th October 2019

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/cas...es-david-news/

Next week's Casualty episode will explore the full story behind newcomer Mason, while David gets some upsetting news and Ethan is left with a dilemma.

Here is a round-up of everything you can look forward to…

    1. A week in the life of Mason

As promised, we are finally about to learn more about multifaceted Mason – with the soap showing us the ins and outs of a week in his life in this special episode.

With Mason struggling to cope with the high pressured and high-stakes situations that are par for the course with his job, fans will start to see that there is actually far more to the junior doctor's questionable behaviour than meets the eye.

When Mason grows all the more desperate to prove his worth to Ethan, it becomes acutely clear that he will go to extreme lengths in order to be the best.

    2. Mason's facade starts to slip...

Although Mason is determined to show his seniors how well he is doing, his facade will start to slip as the episode goes on. Interestingly, viewers will get their first glimpse into Mason's sensitive side when he bonds with an elderly patient and takes some interesting steps as he reaches out to younger one.

As we see the pressure Mason is under – in both his personal and professional life – the junior doctor refuses to ask for help and continues to make a number of big mistakes…

    3. …And he makes his biggest mistake yet

Although Mason's impressed elderly patient Millie believes he can do no wrong, sadly, her faith in him could prove tragically fatal.

Confident that he is finally making progress, Mason's world crumbles when he realises he failed to run the appropriate tests for Millie – who he has since discharged.

But instead of rectifying his error, Mason abandons his mistake in favour of another chance to impress, with devastating repercussions that could haunt him forever.

    4. Rash closes in on Mason

Rash has been keeping a watchful eye on Mason for weeks now, but he will be forced to act upon his concerns in next week's episode.

As the net starts to close in on Mason, Rash starts to suspect that the new medic isn't safe to work in such a high-pressure environment. But will Ethan listen to Rash's concerns?

    5. Jacob offers his support

As one of the only people to see beyond Mason's cocky facade, Jacob will step in to offer his colleague some much-needed advice.

With Mason hanging onto his job by a thread, Jacob takes him under his wing and urges him not to give up on his dreams. Will Mason take Jacob's advice, or will he choose to ignore that too?

    6. David gets worrying news

As David enjoys playing happy families with Ollie and Rosa, his bubble will burst when he gets a letter from his ex-wife – who is threatening legal action over their son's living arrangements.

David's ex – who is also called Rosa – wants Ollie to move back home with her, leaving the nurse with some big decisions over what to do next.

With frustrated porter Rosa imploring him to fight for Ollie, David faces a race against time to tell the teenager just how much he means to him.

    7. Ethan betrays Effie

With Ethan growing more and more attached to Effie, he faces a big dilemma when she turns up at the ED, wanting his advice about the clinical trial.

Apprehensive over what lies ahead, Effie wants an impartial opinion from Ethan – who is struggling to remain objective due to his growing feelings for her.

Later, Ethan betrays his feelings for Effie and encourages her to do the trial, but will she go ahead with it?

Casualty airs these scenes on Saturday, October 5 on BBC One.
