Exclamation Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders scheduling changes confirmed Sept 2019

Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders will all face scheduling changes next month.

New schedules released for the week commencing Monday, September 9 have confirmed some disruption for the 'big three' soaps – so we're here to keep you up to speed.

Emmerdale will only air five episodes during the week, as football coverage sees the show lose its usual Tuesday slot.

ITV will be airing live coverage of England's Euro 2020 qualifier against Kosovo from 7pm on Tuesday, September 10, leaving no room for Emmerdale in the schedule.

It's not clear yet whether we'll get more Emmerdale in a future week to make up for the lost episode. After all, we did get a whopping seven episodes a week for four months.

Meanwhile, Coronation Street is shifting back to an hour-long Friday episode on September 13, airing from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. The show traditionally airs as a double bill on Fridays, but has experimented with the new format a number of times this year.

Due to the change, BBC One has moved EastEnders back to 8.30pm to dodge a direct clash with Coronation Street.

Corrie and EastEnders usually avoid going head-to-head in the schedules, although they did clash on Bank Holiday Monday earlier this week.
