Digital Spy's expanded Neighbours spoilers are now available:

    Monday 2nd Sept

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...-erinsborough/

A third ex-wife of Paul's – Rebecca Napier – turns up out of the blue, sending Paul into a meltdown. Despite Rebecca's plausible reason for visiting, Paul jumps to the conclusion that his exes are colluding to play a sick joke on him. He interrogates Gail, determined to prove his theory. He also tasks Terese with sussing out Rebecca, but both efforts are fruitless.

Terese encourages Paul to accept that sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction, but Paul is convinced these coincidental appearances mean the universe is trying to tell him something.

Rebecca's return to Erinsborough causes her to reflect on the fateful night when she pushed Paul off the mezzanine balcony. When Terese catches Paul and Rebecca in a heated discussion, Rebecca challenges Paul to tell her the truth about that night.

Meanwhile, as Pierce walks away from Lassiters, he hears a faint but desperate cry for help and sprints to Elly's side. Fearing the baby is in danger, Pierce calls an ambulance and Elly is rushed to hospital. After a tense night waiting, news comes through that both Elly and the baby are okay, but Pierce isn't out of the woods yet.

Chloe wants to know why Pierce was with Elly. Pierce sheepishly confesses to confronting her about how much she was hurting Chloe, which Chloe had told Pierce in confidence. Chloe is furious, but the ordeal forces her to have an honest conversation with Elly. Both women are scared of losing their friendship but agree space is needed in order to move on from their romance.

Chloe remains angry at Pierce, wanting to know why he felt he had the right to speak for her. Pushed, a defensive Pierce blurts out that he's in love with Chloe. Thrown by his admission, Chloe doesn't know what has hit her. She's still heartbroken over Elly, but her feelings for Pierce never truly dissipated. Chloe is bewildered – is it too soon to start another romance?

Rebecca imparts a cautionary tale to Terese about how her relationship with Paul turned her into a violent person. Rebecca hopes she has given Terese cause to call off the wedding, but her confession pushes Terese in the other direction. She's furious that Rebecca attempted to take Paul's life and continues to avoid any ownership of her actions.

Paul is relieved his past misdeeds have not changed Terese's opinion of him, as Terese affirms that she won't allow his exes to derail her life. In keeping with this commitment, she attends her scheduled appointment at the Day Spa, only to find herself besieged by all three ex-wives at once.

Paul arrives in the middle of this perfect storm and is stunned to be confronted by Mrs Robinsons past and future. Spooked, he retreats, only to be presented with a photograph of his first wife, Terry, at home.

Panicking, Paul decides the wedding is off – he can't keep ignoring these messages from the universe. Terese can see he is rattled and suggests they escape all this anxiety and interference by eloping to Vegas.

On his way out of the country, Paul decides it's time to let Gary know who he's dating. On the verge of his first kiss with Gail, Gary receives a text from Paul and is dismayed to learn the woman he has been falling for is one of Paul's first wives. It's too close for comfort and Gary and Gail both back off.

Meanwhile, Yashvi continues to bond with new girl Mackenzie, unable to shake the feeling they've met before, but Mackenzie denies any connection with Yashvi or the town of Bourke.

Later, Yashvi's parents learn about her poor showing with her recent English essay. Convinced it's because she's distracted by Ned, Shane tells Ned to break up with her for her own good. Ned passes on his words to Yashvi, encouraging her to open a dialogue with her father. Instead, Yashvi tears Shane a new one, revealing her poor marks were the result of her being unable to concentrate after overhearing the horrible things Shane said about her.

Afterward, Yashvi vents to sympathetic Mackenzie, and Mackenzie has a moment of panic when she drops one of her school transcripts – from Bourke Primary School. She tucks it away quickly, but then realises there's a telltale keyring from Bourke on the zipper of her backpack. Worried it will give her away, she pockets the keyring.

    Wednesday 4th Sept

Shane feels awful for hurting Yashvi's feelings and attempts to bridge the divide between them. He openly admits he has made mistakes in his life – plenty she knows about, plenty she doesn't – but what Yashvi heard him say will go down as one of the biggest mistakes he has made. The pair are able to reconcile their differences as Shane promises to be accepting of Ned and Yashvi's relationship.

Mackenzie has begun to show a keen interest in Shane, and Yashvi is stunned to find a photo of him and a woman among Mackenzie's belongings. This sends her into a spiral as she jumps to conclusions and fears that Mackenzie might be Shane's illegitimate daughter.

Later, Mackenzie confronts Shane – they know each other, and he knows her mum. Shane is stunned to see her. Could Mackenzie be Shane's love child?

Meanwhile, Gary and Sheila wallow in self-pity, lamenting their recent failures in romance. Sheila has lost Clive and Gary has been put off dating after realising Gail was Paul's ex-wife. However, Sheila warns he'll end up spending his entire life on the couch with her unless he gets back on the horse.

Soon afterwards, Gary is back on Tinder. He's struggling with the app when he meets a woman with similar tech ineptitude. They lament the online dating scene and form a real connection. Gary is chuffed when she says yes to going on a date with him, unaware the woman is Rebecca Napier, another one of Paul's ex-wives.

Elsewhere, Elly laments to Bea and Finn about being the only single person at her birthing class. When Bea is not available to join Elly, Finn offers to step in. Elly awkwardly rebuffs him, saying she should learn to be more independent, but her lingering discomfort around Finn is clocked by Bea.

Later, Elly runs into Aaron and David, who run with Elly's joke that they should go to her class as a throuple. When Bea and Finn learn Elly took David and Aaron to the class, Finn is visibly hurt. He assures Bea that he understands, as he and Elly haven't been on the best of terms recently, but Bea is fed up with Elly's attitude and confronts her.

Bea argues Finn was a more suitable choice to attend the birthing class, but Elly puts her foot down. Her pregnancy isn't something she wants to share with just anyone – it's her body and baby.

With the bar closed, Roxy hopes to obtain employment at The Waterhole – also hoping it will give her a reprieve from Harlow's slave-driving. However, Sheila is still angry at Roxy for framing Gary for Paul's attack and refuses to hire her. Regretful of past mistakes, a dejected Roxy turns to Mark for comfort. Sympathetic, Mark heads to The Waterhole and reminds Sheila that everyone deserves a second – or fifth – chance.

Persuaded by Mark's sentiment, Sheila hires Roxy. Roxy is moved by Mark's care. She cajoles him into handing over his house keys so she can arrange a sexy reward for him. But when Harlow comes over to the Brennan house, she's thrown by the romantic display of candles and champagne. It doesn't look like a sexy reward – it looks like a proposal.

Harlow is convinced Roxy is falling for Mark, but before Roxy can argue, Mark arrives at the door and is about to enter. Roxy is about to get sprung – with Harlow and her overboard gesture.

Meanwhile, reeling at the idea that Mackenzie could be her half-sister, Yashvi is desperate for the truth. A snoop around Mackenzie's locker offers no new information, but when Yashvi witnesses a familiar moment between Mackenzie and Shane, her suspicions are solidified. Yashvi confronts Shane, demanding to know if he had an affair with the woman in Mackenzie's photo.

Shane fervently denies it, as he would never cheat on Dipi. However, he won't explain his connection to Mackenzie, leaving Yashvi wary of what she doesn't know. Understanding Mackenzie's secret isn't his to tell but concerned by Yashvi's upset, Shane asks Mackenzie to trust his family, believing they will accept and support her.

Shane plans a family meeting, promising Yashvi that all will come out as soon as Mackenzie arrives. But Yashvi's mounting dread causes her to flee and confront Mackenzie when she finds her outside the house. Mackenzie assures Yashvi that she isn't Shane's daughter, but has in fact asked Shane to help track down her father, admitting she also grew up in Bourke.

Confused but not remembering her, Yashvi doesn't understand why there has been so much secrecy, forcing Mackenzie to nervously reveal the truth. She and Yashvi have met before – they used to know each other in primary school, but back then Mackenzie was known as Michael. Yashvi is thrown to realise her old school chum has transitioned, but hopes she hasn't put her foot in it too badly. Mackenzie is relieved, having been concerned Yashvi wouldn't accept her. With both girls back on the same page, they resolve to stay friends.

Paul and Terese are enjoying tropical paradise in Queensland, ecstatic to be getting married without the interference of Paul's ex-wives. However, Paul's nightmare is far from over as he runs into yet another former Mrs Robinson at the resort – Christina.

Shaken by this astonishing coincidence, Paul is finally worn down by what he believes is a message from the universe and calls off the wedding. Despite Terese's protests, Paul insists that he loves Terese too much to let her become another disappointed ex. Little do they know, the ex-wives have been plotting together the whole time.

Meanwhile, to help Harlow escape, Roxy jumps on Mark, keeping him occupied with her kisses. This leads to a night of fun, but Roxy's high is ruined when Harlow points out Mark wants to keep Roxy secret for a reason. If Roxy is falling for him, she'll get hurt. Defensive, Roxy insists she's not falling for Mark, but later tries to work out if he's looking for a relationship.

Thinking she's worried he's developing feelings for her, Mark assures her he has no interest in love and commitment. Roxy feigns relief but deflates on the inside – her chances for something more with Mark are dashed.

Elsewhere, Gary's looking forward to his first date with a new woman and Sheila's pleased to see his excitement. Off the back of his failure with Gail, Gary's glad this new woman will be a clean break from dating women related to Paul Robinson, proving once and for all that ignorance is bliss.

Rebecca is completely wooed by Gary's romantic date at The 82, but Sheila, while spying on her son with Toadie, discovers the sad truth that Gary's date is another ex-Mrs Robinson. The revelation hits Gary hard and he downloads to Amy and Sheila. In the face of Gary's disappointment, the pair urge him to not let Paul's connection to Rebecca or Gail interfere. After all, they all have one thing in common – they all hate Moneybags.
