Casualty is welcoming another new face in the ED very soon, as newcomer Victor Oshin takes on the role of junior doctor Mason.

Mason has been described as an over-confident F1, who sees himself as a high flier and someone who's going places.

Mason's first scenes will air towards the end of this month, but he'll rustle a few feathers as he sets out to impress.

After a tricky first shift, it's fair to say that Mason doesn't leave the best impression on some of his colleagues – who are left startled by his ruthless behaviour.

However, behind the pretence, it soon becomes apparent that Mason is secretly struggling under the pressure of his career and believes he has a lot to prove.

On joining Casualty, Victor said: "I am super excited to be joining the Casualty family and I can't wait to start this journey with such a talented cast and crew."

Executive Producer of Casualty and Holby City, Simon Harper, added: "Victor wowed us from his first audition and is an immensely talented addition to the Casualty company.

"He's brilliant as Mason, layering the character with a deep vulnerability beneath the bravado of a junior doctor. We'll have to wait and see how he gets on grappling with an NHS at critical breaking point, which is the overriding theme of this new series."

Casualty will air Mason's first scenes on Saturday, August 24 on BBC One.
