Corrine Wicks to guest star
Former Emmerdale actress Corrinne Wicks has been handed a guest role in upcoming Coronation Street episodes.
After a number of teaser snaps were uploaded to the soap's social media accounts today (August 3), Digital Spy can confirm that Corrinne is on board to portray one of Kevin Webster's ex-girlfriends.
Corrinne is known for playing Ella Hart on Emmerdale, starring in the soap between 2010 and 2011.
In the picture, she can be seen filming alongside Sally Carman, Brooke Vincent, Stirling Gallacher and Michael Le Vell, and the star's appearance didn't go unnoticed on social media either, as one fan responded: "Awww look I can see @CorrinneWicks."
Another added: "Ah brilliant to see @CorrinneWicks there gracing our Corrie TV screens."
As for what this means for Kevin and Abi's romantic future, that's anyone's guess. The two characters have been developing some interesting chemistry of late, but the arrival of an ex in the early days of any new relationship certainly complicates things.
Let's hope Kev doesn't get his head turned...
Meanwhile, the picture teasing Corrinne's upcoming guest stint has also offered eagle-eyed viewers a surprise Doctors reunion thanks to the connection between Corrinne and actress Stirling Gallacher.
Corrinne played Dr Helen Thompson on the show between 2000 and 2005, while Stirling played the role of Georgina Woodson between 2003 and 2009.
