I wish people in soaps wouldn't snoop on each other! All soaps are guilty of this. Is it really this common? I like to respect people's privacy.

    Mon 29 July

After Roxy provides her eyewitness account of Gary's attack on Paul, Mark is left with no choice but to arrest Gary. Gary is sure he's the victim of a Paul Robinson stitch-up and Amy vows to find out the identity of the witness. But when Amy discovers it was Roxy and condemns her for lying, she is accused of misdirecting her upset by Harlow.

Sheila wrestles with her guilt at pushing Gary toward violence, and Amy and Kyle agree that they need to hit the brakes on their feelings for one another to be there for Gary while he faces these unfair charges.

At the same time, Terese is grateful to Roxy for saving Paul's life and extends an olive branch, leading the pair to reconnect.

Meanwhile, Chloe is growing impatient while Pierce figures out what he wants from her, confiding in Aaron that she's tired of wasting time and wants to live her life to the fullest. When Aaron sees the unresolved tension between Chloe and Elly, he gets the idea to help the pair reconnect as friends.

The two are soon laughing and gossiping like old times, but when Elly dozes off during a massage and has a sexy dream about Chloe, she's left confused about what her subconscious is trying to tell her. Does she have buried, lingering feelings for Chloe?

Falling short of places to go for make-out sessions, Bea and Finn decide the only way they'll get some privacy is to get out of Erinsborough. Venturing into the city for their first official date, Finn grows wary that he'll be recognised from the newspapers.

Trying to help him relax, Bea suggests they role-play new identities, but when the fun game triggers a memory of Patrick for Bea, the couple are left painfully aware of the bumpy road that lies ahead for their relationship.

Things get even more complicated when, on the way back from their date, Ned stumbles upon them locked in a kiss.

Meanwhile, Yashvi's cashed up after her secret Finn-related dark tour, and suggests she book a hotel room so she and Ned can take their relationship to the next level. Ned feels the pressure of being Yashvi's first, while Dipi and Shane do their best to offer some parental guidance on "the big night", confronted by the fact that their baby girl is growing up.

Yashvi waits in the hotel room for the romantic liaison, but before Ned can get there, he happens upon Bea and Finn kissing and can't contain his shock.

Elsewhere, rattled by her sexy dream, Elly calls an abrupt end to her catch up with Chloe. Disappointed, Chloe confides in Mark, believing the event showed that Elly is not ready for them to be friends. Unaware that Elly is now grappling with the possibility of latent feelings for Chloe, Mark encourages Elly not to abandon her friendship with his sister.

Elly tells Chloe the truth about her dream and Chloe laughs it off, claiming dreams are meaningless. But when Pierce finally asks Chloe out for a drink, Chloe spontaneously finds herself turning him down, and choosing to spend time with Elly instead. It seems Elly's confession has reignited Chloe's hopes that they may still have a shot at romance.

Bea and Finn are shaken after being busted by Ned, and cling to hope that he'll keep their relationship to himself until they're ready to go public. But Ned's more concerned at learning about Yashvi's dark tour and cancels their rendezvous in the hotel room.

When Shane sees his daughter's devastation, he fronts up to Ned, ordering him to explain his behaviour properly to Yashvi. Ned confronts Yashvi over his upset, but she theorises that Ned is more concerned about Bea and this was the reason he didn't show up for their special night. She warns him that unless he can start prioritising her instead of Bea, they have no chance.

Ned vows to commit to Yashvi properly from now on. He makes it clear to Bea and Finn that he has told Yashvi what he saw, but it won't go any further. He then re-hires the hotel room for himself and a delighted Yashvi, and the two are finally ready to get it on.

Bea and Finn are relieved Ned doesn't plan on telling Elly or Karl their news, but can now see it's only a matter of time before they're found out. So they decide to take the bull by the horns and announce their romance themselves.

Meanwhile, keen to explore the possibilities of Elly's potential interest, Chloe invites her out for a casual lunch and dresses to impress. Aaron is confused by her date-like efforts, but when Pierce reveals Chloe blew him off, Aaron puts it together and realises Chloe could be opening her heart up to Elly again. When he confronts her, Chloe admits he's right. On some level, she has never fully closed the door on her feelings for Elly. With Elly having confided about her saucy dream, Chloe wants to be open to the possibility.

Aaron is concerned she is playing with fire and a troubled Mark interferes, interrupting and warning Elly not to give Chloe false hope. Chloe is mortified at his attempts to protect her, and Elly puts Mark in his place, reminding him she's now free to spend time with whoever she wants.

Hearing of the lunch, Pierce begins to fear he has missed his chance with Chloe, however Elly later admits to Chloe that dating isn't on her radar – all she can think about is rebuilding her life and becoming a mum. But Elly assures Chloe she's happy to have rekindled their friendship. Will Chloe be happy enough with that?

Elsewhere, Toadie supports Dee through her turmoil, and Dee finds respite in fitting back into Erinsborough in all its changes. Though initially happy that Dee and Toadie are getting along, Dipi is troubled when it becomes clear just how much Dee is emotionally investing in Toadie.

When Karl reveals Susan has got her own reservations about Dee and Toadie's reconnection, Dipi's fears are validated. The pair organise an impromptu lunch to flush out Dee's feelings but she remains coy. When Dipi later comes across Dee's diary, she can't help herself but snoop – and learns the truth: Dee's feelings for Toadie have definitely returned.

After losing so much family in her life, Dee decides she doesn't want to cut contact with Heather and Andrea too quickly. Especially when she connects with Willow via Skype and sees there is good on that side of the family. Determined to seek a connection with her biological sister and mother, Dee returns to the prison with Toadie and Willow.

Heather's genuine remorse and distress is overwhelming for Dee, and it soon becomes painfully obvious that Andrea is willing to use her connection to Dee as leverage, painting herself as a victim in hope of getting a lighter sentence for her crimes. Dee is crestfallen that Andrea has no interest in building a relationship with her sister.

Hurting for Dee, Toadie stands up to Andrea, delivering her a cold and brutal serve over how atrocious her behaviour has been. Buoyed by Toadie's strength, Dee decides to cut ties with Heather and Andrea, leaving both women to rot in jail alone. The door closes on Heather and Andrea.

Meanwhile, Dipi is deeply troubled, fearing Dee will push Toadie towards something romantic he's not ready for. Shane urges calm, but he too soon begins picking up on little signs that concern him and becomes fearful that Dee wants more than Toadie is ready to give. Intervening, Shane and Dipi approach Dee and cut her off at the pass, urging her to keep her feelings to herself, for Toadie's sake.

Elsewhere, Elly is back from Sydney and ready to embrace a new lease on life. Determined to excel in her return to work, Elly is focused and excited about her first day back. But her diligent attitude goes out the window when Bea and Finn announce their relationship to her and Karl. Both Elly and Karl are in shock. Deep down they both fear this relationship will cause Bea pain and that it shouldn't go ahead.

Conflicted, Karl feels his doubts undermine the faith and confidence they've placed in Finn, while Elly fears this relationship will trigger trauma for Bea. Though she tries to be supportive, Elly is eventually pushed to reveal her true feelings. Elly tells Bea this relationship is wrong, and she should shut it down. Bea is hurt by her sister's perspective and defies Elly and Karl's warnings – her relationship with Finn stands.

Mortified that her feelings have been discovered, Dee is hurt by Shane and Dipi's suggestion that she should take a step back from Toadie. The Rebecchis express worry about the confusion her presence could cause Toadie and the kids, giving Dee a lot to think about. But when Dee starts avoiding Toadie entirely, Shane and Dipi come clean to Toadie about their suggestion, but suggest he ask Dee for the reason why.

Dee admits to Toadie she's falling for him. The revelation forces him to confront his own feelings and, seeking counsel from Mark, Toadie admits there are moments when his fondness for Dee feels more like love than friendship, but his heart still belongs to Sonya. Sharing this truth with Dee, Toadie gently explains that although he still loves her, he isn't ready for another relationship. But he makes it clear he still wants Dee in his life.

Dee appreciates Toadie's honesty and asks how he might feel about her setting up in Erinsborough for a while. The idea of having Dee around the corner sounds wonderful to Toadie, but Shane and Dipi remain privately concerned. Can they just go back to being friends?

Meanwhile, bitter and still recovering from his assault injuries, Paul is on the warpath against Gary. He believes Gary is responsible for the attack that nearly killed him and puts the pressure on Karl to ban Gary from the opening of the tram. When Karl goes through with it, Gary is wrecked. Gary begins to fear Paul's push for wrongful assault charges have a chance of sticking and he could soon find himself back in jail.

As the opening nears, Kyle and Sheila work hard to get the tram ready in Gary's absence. While clearing away some rubbish, Sheila is shocked to find a crowbar wrapped in a bloodied rag in the grass at the back of the tram. It's clear to her this is the weapon with which Gary assaulted Paul. Kyle discovers her with the crowbar and tells her to take it to the police, but panicked Sheila is sure that if Paul finds out, he'll find a way to pin it on Gary. Sheila is adamant she won't let that happen. Just how far will Sheila go to save her son?

I'm getting so sick n tired of all the rehashed story lines that are being recycled every couple of years, why not come up with decent new ones? Nina/Bea singing, Karl/Sarah/Amy/Kyle love triangle, who hurt Paul etc. Come on writers you can do SO much better!!!!!
