    Mon 15 April

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...ve-for-terese/

Terese and Amy are unimpressed by the revelation that Chloe has been posing as Amy, while Leo delights in exploding the secret. Paul explains that when the client mistook Chloe for Amy, they thought it was easier to run with it than admit his daughter quit.

While Amy grudgingly accepts the explanation, Terese is furious that Paul lied to her yet again. She is also unsure if she can trust Chloe enough to continue working with her. Paul regrets lying to Terese and realises that the time for taking things slowly has passed. He's finally ready to form an equal partnership with Terese… starting by moving into Number 22.

Meanwhile, despite being rankled by Paul and Chloe's scheme, Amy chooses to focus on the problem that led to it… the massive hole the Mel fiasco left in the Robinson Pines budget. She decides to find a way to cut costs to get back on track, apologising to Gary that it means she'll have to cancel their plans to spend the day together. But the silver lining is that she's decided to move in with him sooner. Gary is delighted and plans a slap-up dinner to celebrate.

Amy cracks on with the work and gratefully accepts Kyle's offer to help. Working together is just like old times, and time flies… leading Amy to forget all about dinner. But Gary is understanding, encouraging her to take as long as she needs.

Amy and Kyle work late into the night and celebrate with a drink when dawn hits and they're finally done. Amy has enjoyed spending time as friends, not recognising that Kyle is starting to feel a bit of their old spark. When Gary assumes she spent the night alone, Amy fails to correct him. It's Chloe who catches Amy out, and poses a challenging question: if her time with Kyle was so innocent, why did she feel the need to lie about it?

Elsewhere, David realises that Leo is continuing to spiral, and visits him at the backpackers for a heart-to-heart. But Leo, ragged after his day of drinking and causing drama, is in no mood to talk. David knows his brother well enough to leave him alone but returns the next day. He declares that Leo has spent enough time wallowing alone. He's decided Leo is moving into Number 32, and he won't take no for an answer. Leo agrees and they lug his bags to Ramsay Street, only to find their dad doing the same across the street.

Finn's upcoming hearing is driving tension between friends and loved ones. Bea is angry that Finn is receiving so much support, especially from Susan. Imogen is pulling out all stops to secure Finn a non-custodial sentence, requesting his ex-wife Miranda give him a place to stay if the judge grants it. Learning of this from Bea, an incensed Ned goes off at Imogen, asserting his disappointment in his sister at Paul and Terese's BBQ.

Bea decides Finn should get a taste of the impact he's having on others and goes to visit him with an impassioned recording of her song 'Sorry', which demonstrates the heartbreak and anger he's caused her. But just as Bea arrives at the hospital, she sees a car come roaring through the car park heading straight for Imogen and Susan.

Without a second thought, Finn launches himself into the car's path to push Imogen and Susan out of harm's way, taking the hit himself. Bea's head spins in disbelief – Finn Kelly just sacrificed himself to save Susan and Imogen's lives…

Meanwhile, moving day excitement fills the Canning house as Amy moves in with Gary. But she still hasn't told him about her all-nighter with Kyle, and Amy finds herself lying about it for fear of piquing Gary's insecurities. Amy soon realises her well-intentioned lie can't last, but before she can come clean, Paul lets slip that Amy spent last night with Kyle.

Amy scrambles to reassure Gary he is the only man on her mind, but Gary is hurt and vanishes. Unable to track down his dad, Kyle heads back to Amy's house, admitting he needs to ask her something – did she really lie just to protect Gary, or was there another reason? Amy insists there's nothing else to it and makes it clear Gary is the man for her. But is she kidding herself?

Elsewhere, Paul is acclimatising to life back on Ramsay Street, where he can't escape his fraught relationship with Leo. When Terese suggests they invite Amy and Gary over for a BBQ, Paul is reluctant but then spies an opportunity to push his agenda and invites Kyle along too.

As the barbecue kicks off and Paul muddles his way through neighbourly chitchat, he finds himself wishing Leo was there. Paul pays his son a visit and suggests it might be time to bury the hatchet. Despite longing to be included, Leo sends Paul packing – the chasm between them no closer to repair.

With lives endangered by the mysterious hit and run, Mark launches an investigation into who was behind the wheel. Anyone who might want to harm Imogen and prevent her from defending Finn is a suspect, including Gary, Sheila and Ned. With airtight alibis, Sheila and Gary are quickly dismissed, and Ned is offended at the accusation that he'd try to run down his sister, even if he disagrees with her defence of Finn.

Imogen staunchly backs Ned up and shares with Mark a tip she learned from Finn. Following Imogen's request, Finn's ex-wife Miranda approached Finn with an offer to take him in should he receive a non-custodial sentence. But Finn declined her offer, leaving Miranda feeling scorned. It's possible Miranda sought comeuppance - and Mark is keen to track her down.

Terese is concerned for Imogen, convinced that representing Finn is putting her daughter's safety at risk. But when push comes to shove Imogen stands by Finn, adamant that everyone deserves a defence.

Meanwhile, as Finn is treated for his injuries, his grand act of heroism challenges his naysayers to re-evaluate their feelings towards him on the eve of his sentencing. Overwhelmed by Susan's close call, Karl is grateful that Finn intervened but feels conflicted about his view.

Although Karl isn't convinced that one good deed undoes his history of bad ones, he is encouraged to see what Susan sees – that Finn is indeed a changed man and this new version of him is a hero, not a villain. Much like Karl, Bea is confused to find herself appreciating Finn for what he did to protect Susan. Suddenly, her longstanding acrimony for Finn doesn't feel quite right and as the day of Finn's hearing dawns, Bea is questioning everything.

Finn's hearing begins with a damning portrayal of his character, leaving Gary and Ned feeling confident that he will be put away for a long time. However, Imogen's defence is clever and powerful, painting a more sympathetic portrait. Although Xanthe's victim impact statement is scathing, Susan balances it out and it's left to Bea and Elly to pull the final punches that will ultimately put Finn behind bars.

When Bea takes the stand, she wavers and, much to Ned's shock, makes the fateful decision to change her testimony on the spot. She sides with Susan, believing the person being tried today isn't the same one who hurt them all so terribly. Ned is flabbergasted and the whole outcome of the trial is now up for grabs.

Elly is the only one left who can sway the judge to incarcerate Finn. But when she spies Shaun and runs out on her chance to speak, the court is left baffled and the judge is forced to adjourn. Finn's chances appear to be improving.

Later, puzzled at where Elly has suddenly gone, Leo looks for her and finds her deeply upset. An anxious Elly asks who the man sitting beside Finn is and Leo reveals it's Shaun, Finn's brother. He's shocked when Elly breaks down. It's the worst possible thing he could have said… because Shaun is the father of her unborn baby.

Desperate Elly is forced to make her web of lies even more tangled. She tells Mark she left Finn's hearing because she was simply overwhelmed by the proximity to Finn.

Elly later begs Shaun not to tell anyone about their dalliance. Shaun is sympathetic to her plight, but when he hears conflicting information about her pregnancy dates from Mark, contradicting what Elly let slip, he does the maths and is deeply shaken.

Shaun confronts Elly, wanting to know if he could be the father of her baby. Exhausted and overwhelmed, Elly confesses the truth: Shaun is the father. She begs him not to ruin her life by revealing this to Mark, and to simply walk away. But Shaun claims he needs time to think about it.

Meanwhile, Leo and Paul can't escape their business connection and Paul wants to know how Leo plans to capitalise at the Backpackers over the Easter long weekend. Frustrated by Paul's interference, Leo brushes him off, but David suggests Leo work something out, if only to get Paul off his back.

Leo makes a half-hearted effort and spends the day at Aaron and David's pool party getting drunk instead. When he gets a phone call complaining about the noise at the Backpackers, Leo decides not to check it out. Wanting to protect Leo from Paul, David heads over instead. A brawl is brewing and when David tries to break it up, he gets caught in the crossfire.

Elsewhere, Kyle is working hard to move past his heartache and is determined to have a good time at Aaron's Easter pool party. But when both Aaron and Leo inadvertently bring up not only his divorce but the fact that Amy is now engaged to his dad, Kyle's frustrations grow. Rankled by the assumption that Georgia dumped him, he blurts out that it was actually the other way around.

As he tries to bury himself in the fun of the party, it becomes clear Kyle has Amy on the brain… but knowing she's not an option, he throws himself into steamy flirting with Chloe. In a heated moment, Chloe and Kyle rub sunscreen on each other and the temptation grows too great, leading to a passionate kiss. But is this hot new romance already destined for disaster?
