Maybe a drunken Elly has done the deed with another man? I hope she has. At least it could end this marriage farce!

Digital Spy has released its expanded Neighbours spoilers for 18 - 22 March:

    Mon 18 March

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...appearing-act/

Finn reacts badly to the truth of his lost years and his agitated reaction alerts Clive to Karl's unprofessional act. A guilty Karl is verbally reprimanded by Clive for risking Finn's recovery and is told to stay away.

Soon afterwards, both Karl and Clive are startled to find Finn's room empty. Whether his amnesia is real or not, he's now on the loose.

Meanwhile, a defensive Ned stands his ground in the face of a furious Paul. It's Terese who really feels the heat when Paul demands that Ned be fired unless he has the story retracted. Terese feels the pull of divided loyalties, leading Piper to challenge her mum over the way she keeps falling into line behind Paul without question, when she knows full well how dodgy Paul can be.

Rattled by Piper’s words, Terese stands up to Paul, pushing him to confess his determination to keep Robinson Pines untarnished out of respect for his late father. Paul is able to resolve the situation with Bea and Ned, but it’s too late to stop the story.

Elsewhere, Gary organises a fancy surprise date for Amy – a trip to the ballet. Sheila is the only one who catches Amy's reservations but keeps mum out of respect for the agreement she made not to interfere in their relationship. When Amy is dragged into Paul's impending Robinson Pines crisis and apologetically cancels, Gary asks Sheila to go with him instead. Will their residual tension turn this mother-son outing into a nightmare?

The Kennedys are alarmed over Finn’s escape from the hospital, with Karl urging Susan and the girls to go into lockdown. Before long, Karl finds Finn in the hospital car park and is troubled to see how seemingly genuine his distress is over the revelations Karl made about his past.

Later, Finn gets a new specialist organised by Paul - Dr. Beverley, Paul’s former stepmother. She confirms what Karl told him and adds yet another shock: Finn was in a coma because Susan pushed him off a cliff.

Finn seems to be genuinely shaken again, then later requests to speak to Susan. He tells her that he has learned what happened and he forgives her. Susan is caught off guard by Finn’s declaration, unsure of what to make of it.

Meanwhile, Leo continues wrestling with his heartbreak over Terese and Paul’s betrayal – increasingly taking comfort in Piper’s supportive friendship. At the same time, Terese and Paul are still trying to settle Mrs Punt’s lawsuit and realise the only way to appease her is to convince Leo to publicly apologise for his actions that injured her.

Humiliated by the prospect, Leo finds solace in a movie marathon night with Piper. Leo vents his frustration about Paul and Terese, and Piper shares her sense of feeling lost and at a loose end in life. Their emotional intimacy builds to a sizzling frisson that ends with Piper and Leo falling passionately into each other’s arms.

Elsewhere, Gary and Sheila reluctantly head to the ballet. Both are surprisingly engaged by the show and on the heels of their nice time together, they begin to open up to each other about their recent conflict. They enjoy a frank discussion where they agree they both made mistakes during Gary’s upbringing, but Gary is adamant he’s responsible for his own behaviour now.

Elly is struggling to come to terms with being rejected and ignored by Mark. She stumbles home after a big night. Waking up a little worse for wear, she is surprised to be approached by somebody who does want to hear her side of the story – Fay. Elly relays how hurt and embarrassed she’d been by Mark’s recent distance, which culminated in him disappearing and telling her the wedding was off. Fay understands. She’s been in a similar situation as Elly and her advice is to carefully consider what she wants.

Having already decided that she still wants to build a future with Mark, Elly finally convinces him to hear her out. Telling him she’ll do anything to bring them back together, Elly is crushed when he responds bluntly, saying he wants an annulment. But a shock revelation could turn that decision on its head: secretly, Elly takes a pregnancy test and it’s positive.

Meanwhile, Mark wants nothing to do with Chloe or Aaron but Fay begins to take pity on Chloe, regretting her outburst. She finds her daughter at work and apologises for slapping her. Chloe forgives her, happy to have somebody to support her.

Learning that Aaron is still caught in the crossfire, Chloe resolves to make at least one thing right. Confronting Mark, she implores him to hate her if he wants to, but to stop punishing Aaron. Taking this on board, Mark tracks Aaron and the brothers make amends, which Chloe clocks from afar. She’s happy to see the thaw, but it’s only small comfort as she walks away alone.

Elsewhere, Piper and Leo wake up feeling uncertain about their hook up, but neither is ready to talk about it. Piper escapes to work but she can’t escape a visit from Terese, which is incredibly tense. Piper is guilty about the night she just spent with Leo. Her growing sense of loneliness is further stoked by missing Xanthe and hearing from Fay how well Tyler is doing without her.

At the same time, Leo is still angry at Terese and Paul for betraying him and is galled to have to prepare his apology for Mrs Punt. Leo and Piper regroup and once Piper has discovered that Leo wasn’t motivated by revenge, they agree that their night together was fun but their friendship is too important to lose so it’s best they don’t take things further. They remain supportive mates for now, but will it stay this way?

    Thurs 21 March

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...-her-big-news/

Shocked to discover she’s pregnant, Elly grapples with what that means for her and Mark. Fearing it will lead to more rejection, she avoids telling him. Elly does tell sympathetic Fay, who offers to make arrangements for the two of them to meet.

When Chloe accidentally hears the baby news, she’s shocked but swallows her own hurt to counsel Elly. All Mark has ever wanted is a family and the pregnancy will surely reunite them. Elly is encouraged but Chloe is privately heartbroken, confessing to Fay that while a baby might bring Mark and Elly closer together, it can only split her and Elly further apart.

Mark is still determined not to take back a woman he can’t trust but Fay convinces him to hear Elly out one more time. At the meeting, Elly takes Amy’s advice not to use the baby as bait to get Mark back and tries again to change his mind. When Mark holds firm on his resolve that there’s no future for them, Elly is unable to hold her tongue any longer. She reveals she’s pregnant. Will this push Mark to take her back?

Meanwhile, the public scandal over Mel’s nefarious actions continues to dent the reputation of Robinson Pines. While Paul maintains he did nothing wrong, Amy is at a crossroads. Gary helps her realise that running the development for her morally-grey father has turned her into someone she doesn’t want to be. With Gary’s encouragement, she comes to decide she shouldn’t be working with her father at all. She resigns, happily choosing to return to her roots as ‘The Handy Woman’. Paul is hurt and angry when he learns the part Gary played.

Elsewhere, Dipi and Shane learn that Lauren is putting Number 32 up for sale. Disappointed to realise they can’t afford to buy it, they resign themselves to finding another house to rent in the area. But when Aaron hears the news, he’s intrigued. He calls David to check on their financial situation. Could they be about to buy a home of their own?

    Fri 22 March

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...on-about-elly/

Thrown to learn Elly is pregnant, Mark needs time before giving her a response. He confesses to Fay that he’s conflicted – a child with a woman he loves is all he’s ever wanted, but can he forgive Elly? While Elly anxiously waits for an answer, she’s comforted by Chloe, much to Mark’s upset when he sees them together. When Elly realises he got the wrong impression, she follows him home to explain.

Elly finds Mark reading Kate’s letter and she’s frustrated that he’s again finding comfort in his late fiancée. The anger that has been bubbling away under her guilt and regret rises up, and she challenges Mark to take some responsibility for their problems.

Mark takes this onboard and when he visits Elly to give her an answer, he asks if she’s truly willing to make a fresh start. She agrees and he offers to burn Kate’s letter as a symbol, but Elly stops him.

Meanwhile, the comfort and support Leo and Piper offer each other spills over into the physical again and they convince themselves they can be ‘friends with benefits’ without it becoming too messy. But they need to keep it secret, so they come up with their own cheeky code word to use in public when they want to spend some time together: ‘croquet’.

Piper drops the term casually while in conversation with Imogen, who has returned to help run Toadie’s law firm. When Leo also gives the code word he uses with his ‘anonymous’ lover to Chloe, it has unintended consequences when Chloe mentions it to Imogen.

It doesn’t take long for Imogen to put two-and-two together and realise Piper and Leo have been ‘playing croquet’ together. Piper is shocked when Imogen confronts her with what she’s deduced and issues an ultimatum. She demands Piper tell Terese what she’s up to with Leo, or she will.
