Unbeknown to Toadie, Sonya jumps on a plane to confront Andrea in her psychiatric ward. Chloe and Mel meet up for drinks, both keen to start again with a clean slate, but Mel wants to take things slowly. Amy wants to help Gary as he tries to rebuild his life, but is put off by Sheila, who takes umbrage at what she perceives as Amy's patronising attitude.

Tuesday 12th February 2019

Sonya asks Andrea to sign over full custody of Hugo to Toadie, and gambles on revealing her cancer diagnosis to get what she wants. After she returns, Toadie and Sonya go public about her cancer, which reminds Terese of her own battle last year. Leo seizes the moment to propose, only to be firmly rebuffed.

Wednesday 13th February 2019

After some extensive soul-searching, Terese comes to a decision about Leo. Sonya's illness causes Mark to question whether the time is right to arrange his wedding, but Sonya insists that he must not postpone it on her account. After a tip from Amy, Toadie offers Gary a job helping out at the nursery.

Thursday 14th February 2019

Terese throws herself into work, but when Leo and Paul turn up for Valentine's Day drinks at the Waterhole she realises that the time has come for her to be totally honest with them both. Impressed by how supportive Mel can be, Chloe decides to take things to the next level, leaving Elly feeling like a third wheel in their new relationship.

Friday 15th February 2019

Paul and Terese want to be together, but are aware that they must let Leo down very gently. Leo has not given up hope, until he unexpectedly witnesses an intimate moment between them, leaving him devastated. Chloe announces that she and Mel are a couple again, but Elly still has doubts about Mel's reliability.

Toadie insists he’ll handle the situation with Andrea and her lawyers, believing the best strategy is to not tell them about Sonya’s diagnosis unless the time comes when they absolutely have to.
Sonya worries that her health will become an issue soon enough, and that it might look even worse if they’re not upfront from the start. Toadie stands firm: he’ll handle this and he doesn’t want Sonya worrying about it.

Fearing that legal proceedings will drag this out, and not wanting to be a liability, Sonya decides to go on the front foot. Enlisting Shane’s help, Sonya quietly arranges to slip off to the airport.

As unwitting Toadie prepares to fight dirty in the courts, Sonya takes matters into her own hands, arriving to confront Andrea face-to-face at the psychiatric ward.

Meanwhile, after agreeing to a clean slate, Chloe and Mel meet up for drinks, trying to get to know each other better. Chloe is surprised by how well she finds herself getting along with her ex, quickly falling into their old rapport. But Chloe is startled when Mel bails after one drink, insisting that she won’t settle for drunken hook-ups – if Mel is going to return to Chloe’s bed, she wants it to mean something.

Slightly taken aback, Chloe redoubles her efforts at establishing herself as the friend Mel needs. But is there a chance she might ultimately want more?

Elsewhere, despite continually refusing to take Gary back, Amy does still love him deep down, and wants to see him rebuild his life. She can’t help being supportive, offering him leads in his hunt for more work. While Gary is touched by her thoughtfulness, Sheila declares that Amy is being patronising – acting as though Gary can’t do things for himself. Inspired by a new parenting book that’s all about helping adult kids succeed, Sheila tells Amy that Gary doesn’t need her pity. Amy apologises to a baffled Gary, who’s left to once again rue his mother’s interference.

Swallowing her trepidation, Sonya meets with Andrea. She demands that Andrea should sign over full custody of Hugo to Jarrod, revealing her cancer diagnosis in the process. Sonya knows revealing her illness to Andrea is a huge gamble – but it pays off. A victorious Sonya returns to find Toadie, who’s panicking after discovering what she’s been up to. Toadie is relieved that Sonya’s risky tactic worked, but Sonya sees how much the pressure of the entire situation is playing on him, and together they decide it’s time to welcome the whole community’s support.

Sonya goes public with her health fight, and the Rebecchis are overwhelmed with love from the people around them. Through Sonya’s relief, we get a sense that she might be holding back something about her whirlwind trip to Tasmania. Something Andrea said has her rattled, though Sonya isn’t ready to share it yet.

Meanwhile, the residents of Ramsay Street are shaken by Sonya’s news – none more so than Terese, who’s reminded of her own battle last year. But while she resists sharing her vulnerability with Leo, Paul sees through her stoicism and easily gets her to open up.

At the same time, Leo is on the hunt for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift, when Sonya’s news reminds him how important it is to treasure every moment of life and love. Determined that Terese is his future, Leo finds himself taking a leap, spontaneously proposing to her. Stunned and conflicted, Terese can’t hide her shock, bluntly turning him down.

Thrown by Terese’s refusal of his marriage proposal, Leo scrambles to change her mind. However, Terese needs more time to work through her inner turmoil about what she really wants. Despite being roadblocked by her private feelings for Paul, Terese decides to stay with Leo. But then she has a moment with Paul where she feels the heat and familiarity springing from years of sexual tension. Terese is left even more confused.

Leo is thrilled to be given a second chance, but his joy is short-lived when Terese becomes overwhelmed and admits their relationship no longer feels right. It’s the end of the road for this unlikely romance. Leo is shattered – but what’s next for Terese?

Meanwhile, when Elly lets slip to Sonya that Mark is suddenly being less than enthusiastic about focusing on their wedding preparation, Sonya gets involved. Mark is struggling with the thought of his friend being ill and admits to Aaron that it doesn’t feel right to be planning a party right now. Sonya reads Mark the riot act, ordering him to not even consider postponing his wedding because of her.

Elsewhere, after a tip from Amy, Toadie hires Gary to be the new casual employee at the nursery. He’s amused to see the new dynamic between Sheila and Amy when Amy begs him not to tell Gary or Sheila that she was the one who suggested Gary for the role. It’s clear Sheila has an axe to grind. Back at home, Toadie enjoys gossiping with Sonya about their neighbours, and they both appreciate the lighthearted normality of getting caught up in their friends’ dramas.

Heartbroken at Terese’s decision to end their relationship, Leo feels lost and Paul is right by his side, offering the support and comfort he needs. Still devoted to Terese, Leo blames himself for their break-up. Terese leans on Piper to process how terrible she feels.

The black tie Valentine’s Day drinks at The Waterhole provide a welcome distraction for Terese, who throws herself into work – only to find both Leo and Paul there as well. Leo admits that he knows he brought chaos into her life, but he thought they had something solid. Terese is forced to reiterate that there’s no going back now. But she still has to deal with Paul, who lays his frustrations on her for the hurt Leo is feeling and demands an explanation.

While Terese deeply regrets the pain she’s caused Leo, she’s steadfast in her decision, sure that she couldn’t continue with Leo when she can’t stop thinking about Paul. It’s everything Paul has wanted to hear for the longest time, and he’s torn between his love for Terese and loyalty to Leo. Ultimately, Paul can’t resist Terese, sweeping her up in a kiss.

Meanwhile, Chloe has to choose how to spend her free morning; wedding prep with Elly or hitting the beach with Mel? Encouraged by Elly, Chloe heads to the beach with Mel, where some one-on-one time enlightens Chloe to how supportive Mel can be. Mel offers a compassionate understanding of Chloe’s difficult feelings for Elly, and Chloe is inspired to open up with Mel further, feeling at ease with her ex in a way she never has before.

When Chloe has to return to work at the Valentine’s Day event, she invites Mel to tag along. Elly is put out, suddenly feeling like an unwanted third wheel to Chloe’s new relationship. After a day reconnecting, Chloe is ready to put her hesitations aside and explore a real relationship with Mel.

Paul and Terese are wary of hurting Leo, but cannot resist each other any longer, deciding this is it and they want to be together. They realise they'll have break it to Leo carefully. At the same time, Leo is inspired by an unwitting Piper not to give up on his relationship with Terese. Knowing the fallout to come between him and his son, Paul alerts David to what’s coming and asks for him to be on call for his brother.

Paul and Terese’s well-intentioned plan to start their relationship on the right foot comes undone at the last second, when Leo unexpectedly witnesses an intimate moment between them, leaving him stunned, devastated and confused.

Meanwhile, change is in the air for Chloe, as she decides to embark on a real relationship with Mel. Despite a history of avoiding commitment, Chloe happily announces to her family that she and Mel are a couple. Aaron and Mark are pleased for her, feeling this is the beginning of good things for Chloe, but Elly can’t help still feeling doubtful of Mel’s motivations.

Aaron suspects Elly’s attitude toward Mel might have more to do with the fact that Mel is now receiving attention from Chloe that is usually earmarked for Elly, and Elly resents the accusation. But she does her best to be happy for her friend, overcompensating to make a show of being on-board with Chloe and Mel’s new relationship. But she can’t entirely let go of how Mel has hurt Chloe in the past and asks Aaron to watch his sister’s back.
