For those interested, Digital Spy's extended Neighbours spoilers for 14th - 18th January are now available:

    Mon 14 Jan

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...-for-her-life/

There's pandemonium at The Waterhole as it’s revealed that Terese is the one who was shot. David, Mark and Chloe are walking on their way to Harold’s when they hear the shot and see Ivan Renshaw running away.

David and Mark go to The Waterhole and Chloe waits for them at Harold’s – where Elly is with Yashvi, Kirsha and some school kids. David checks on Terese and gets her into an ambulance and taken to hospital. The police advise everyone to stay put while the shooter is at large.

Paul and Leo are riddled with guilt that the woman they both love, Terese, might die in part due to their actions. Delaney tracks down Leo and insists she did not betray him to her father. Leo refuses to believe her and urges her to confess all to the police.

Later, Mark takes off in search of Ivan. He teams up with Ned and together they find Ivan trying to break into a car and manage to capture him.

Despite this, Raymond Renshaw is still at large. He tries to leave the hotel but there are so many police around that he accepts Elly’s innocent invitation to stay at Harold’s, where he plans his next move.

While there, Raymond finds himself unable to get out. When his photo is circulated on social media, Yashvi recognises him and Elly becomes aware that one of the Renshaws is among them. Raymond notes this and panics, pulling out his gun and holding everyone in Harold’s hostage.

    Tue 15 Jan

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...elf-in-danger/

Raymond barricades the doors and confiscates everyone’s phones – only to discover that Kirsha has kept hers and dialled 000. Police surround Harold’s as a hostage situation is under way. Fay, Aaron and Mark flee to the scene, as do Shane and Dipi.

Within the café, Elly takes leadership and manages to persuade Raymond to release the bulk of the hostages as a show of good faith. Raymond ends up keeping three – Elly, Chloe and Yashvi. Elly suggests that Raymond should take one hostage – her – but Chloe protests, saying it should be her instead.

The women argue and a frustrated Raymond fires his gun into the roof to get them to be quiet, terrifying the onlookers. Leo tries to get Delaney to talk to her father but she can’t go through with it, so Leo offers himself up as a hostage. He tries to distract Raymond long enough for the police to storm the café and rescue the hostages.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, a guilt-ridden Paul refuses to leave Terese’s bedside, to the disquiet of Jane. There is a complication with Terese’s wound, causing David to call in a specialist. Jane notes how torn up Paul is by all of this and Paul eventually cracks and confesses to her – Terese is in here because he was responsible for the death of someone.

    Wed 16 Jan

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...-big-decision/

Jane reels with the shock of Paul’s confession, unsure what to do. She talks about this with Leo, who defends his father – pointing out that he only did what he did to protect him. Jane can see that, but worries about Paul’s feelings for Terese. She tells Paul that she will stick by him, but only if he stops spending time with Terese. Paul agrees, but then hears that Terese needs a specialist for urgent surgery.

Paul switches into action and pulls strings so the specialist is flown into Erinsborough. Jane realises that Paul will never be able to stop loving Terese. She ends the relationship and departs from Erinsborough, leaving behind the Mrs. Mangel painting.

Meanwhile, Piper is protectively stopping Leo and Paul from visiting her mother in hospital. Her feelings towards Paul are softened when Paul helps arrange the specialist for emergency surgery on Terese’s arm. Then, while recovering from surgery, Terese calls out Paul’s name in a state of semi-consciousness. Piper is confused – are her mother’s feelings for Paul deeper than everyone realises?

Elsewhere, Leo catches Delaney making a mysterious call, but when he quizzes her about it, she covers. Worried there might be another threat in Erinsborough, Leo accesses Delaney’s phone and arranges to meet up with the mystery visitor. Delaney finds out about this and is terrified – if Leo meets with the person, he’s in grave danger.

    Thurs 17 Jan

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...-about-mannix/

Leo reveals to Paul who Delaney’s mystery contact was – Mannix, who is still alive. Delaney finally admits that she lied about Mannix’s fate. The dead body that Paul thought was Mannix is a former business associate of her father. Delaney helped Mannix when Paul left him in the bush – and in return, Mannix helped Delaney convince Leo and Paul he was dead.

Delaney then reveals she had no intention of telling her family Leo was the informant, and Mannix admits it was him. With pressure of the Renshaws’ release, Mannix dobbed on Leo to clear his name. Paul is shocked, relieved but also angry.

When Mannix tries to get some money from Paul and Leo, they throw him out and tell him never to come back. Delaney tries to apologise, but Leo and Paul tell her to go too.

Meanwhile, Mannix tries to get some money from David, threatening to blackmail him with the fact that David provided painkillers to Mannix 18 months ago. David follows this up with Paul, who tells his son the entire story. Shocked, David decides the time for cover-ups is over and confesses to Karl. The threat of blackmail has been removed from Paul’s family for good. But now David has been suspended from his job pending further investigation.

Elsewhere, Terese wakes up and asks to see Paul to thank him for helping arrange the specialist. Piper notes that Terese wanted to see Paul first, not Leo. Paul makes a complete confession to Terese about everything he and Leo did. To Piper’s surprise, instead of making a pitch for Terese, he begs Terese to give Leo another chance. Terese agrees to see Leo, who begs for forgiveness. However, Terese isn’t sure what she wants.

Piper meets with Paul and asks what happened to Jane. Paul admits Jane left because Paul is still in love with Terese. However, Paul knows that Terese will never love him, so is standing back for Leo. Piper isn’t so sure Terese’s feelings for Paul are entirely platonic but keeps this to herself… for now.

    Fri 18 Jan

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...ig-confession/

Bea tells Ned what happened in the visit from Shaun – he said Finn was a monster and retracted the things he said to Susan. Bea is confused and upset and admits she feels a little powerless, having been fooled yet again.

A guilt-ridden Ned confesses to Karl what he did, so Karl urges Ned to come clean to Bea and apologise. Ned does but also goes out of his way to justify himself, leaving Bea upset.

Meanwhile, Dipi is shaken following the siege but hides this from Shane. He decides to take Kirsha and Yashvi to Colac for the night and Dipi is keen to go too, but Sheila suggests she should stay behind to clean up Harold’s for a re-opening – unaware that Dipi is dreading doing so. However, Gary happens along and notices Dipi’s apprehension. He helps her find the courage to re-enter Harold’s and to clean up.

Later, Gary's company enables Dipi to relax and open up, allowing her to finally fall asleep – the first night’s sleep she’s had since the siege. Gary decides not to disturb her and they wake up at Harold’s together the next day. Dipi is grateful but asks Gary not to say anything to Shane – it's too complicated. Gary agrees, unaware Sheila has seen them leave Harold’s together.

Elsewhere, Sonya thinks that Lassiters needs a cleansing to rid it of its bad energy. She recruits Toadie for help, and with some sage, incense and candles from Dipi, they get permission to begin the cleanse at The Waterhole. But while in the unoccupied bar, they can’t resist the temptation to fulfil a secret fantasy of Sonya’s – to make love behind the bar. As this happens, the incense and the candle fall into a bin behind the bar, the smoke setting off the fire alarm and causing the police to burst in and catch Sonya and Toadie in a compromising position.

Perhaps he arranged for Shaun to contact Susan and to tell her the fake sob story about Finn being taken hostage

Sounds more like Ned strongarmed Shaun into retracting his story for Bea's peace of mind.
