harry potter and the Half Blood Prince... post reading anaysis (contains spoilers)

I finished it. I thought it was good -- although I'm dreading the backlash from all the Harry/Hermione fans, lol.

I liked the fact that Dumbledore was wrong about Snape in the end -- shows he's not perfect, although that was also shown in Book 5 with Sirius.

I felt sorry for Draco at the end as well.


I'd guessed Dumbledore would die so wasn't too surprised, but I still had a lump in my throat.

Took me 5 1/2 hours! Cant believe Snape killed Dumbledore. So know all three of them are off out of hogwarts!How does that work, Hermione would do N.E.W.T.S Cant wait for the final book. Only 2 years-ish!

Yep, at times it did seem a little too much like JKR was trying to pair everyone up. But I don't think it detracted too much from the book overall - it was just a little random, and a bit too fanfic like.

Yeah. I dont mind Ron and Hermione as they are just lovely together. I wanted there to be some connection with Sirius. Apparently it is in the 7th book

I liked Harry and Ginny -- thought it was done realistic, and didn't try and pass it off as Harry discovering his soulmate or anything like that.

And Ron and Hermione were just adorable in all their immature glory.
