Exclamation Casualty Spoilers 4th August 2018

    http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/casu...-alicia-eddie/
It's that time of year again! Casualty is coming to the end of its current series, and as always, its much-anticipated season finale is definitely not one to be missed. While the show has promised a whopper of an episode to kick off its new series, next week's episode is still full of shocks, sad departures, and some utterly heartbreaking performances.

Emotional, harrowing and highly thought-provoking, the scenes will see the culmination to Alicia and Eddie's controversial rape story – with a a few twists dropped in along the way. Here are nine things you need to know about next week's series finale:

    1. Alicia reports Eddie for rape

Tonight's (July 28) episode ended with a distressed Alicia deciding to report Eddie to the police and this cliffhanger will continue into next week.

Picking up as it does, exactly where it left off at the police station, we'll see Alicia pluck up the courage to go inside, whilst being plagued by Eddie's voice inside her head.

Knowing she can't go on like this anymore, Alicia bravely decides to tell the police that Eddie raped her and later goes back to the station to give a more detailed account of what happened. Will justice be served?

    2. We'll hear Eddie's version of events, too

While the story has so far focused around Alicia's harrowing account of what happened that night, next week's episode will see Eddie give his version of events.

From the start, Casualty has always been focused on exploring the very topical issue of consent with this plot and it's become acutely clear that Alicia and Eddie have a different perspective on what really happened.

After Eddie is arrested by the police, he reveals his account of that night during an interview with the police – insisting that Alicia consented to sex. But will the police believe him? Or is he facing some very serious charges?

    3. We'll finally learn what really happened that night

As both Alicia and Eddie give their statements to the police, viewers will finally hear the entire truth about what happened on that fateful May evening.

As Eddie protests his innocence, Alicia remains strong in her claims that he took advantage of her, but starts to crack under the pressure of it all.

However, when some incriminating new information comes to light, the entire case threatens to be turned on its head. Fans will have to tune in to find out more, but by the end of the episode, it will become all the more clear about who is telling the truth...

    4. Bea leaves for Paris

Bea has been a pillar of support to Alicia over the last few weeks and will continue to be there for her friend next Saturday. Despite bearing the brunt of Alicia's anger tonight, a loyal and understanding Bea will put aside the incident in order to be by her colleagues side in her time of need.

That said, Bea is sadly on borrowed time in Holby due to her work commitments abroad. Having recently been offered a chance of a lifetime in Paris, Bea is ultimately forced to say a bittersweet goodbye to the ED world. Will Alicia be able to get through this without her?

    5. Chelsea Halfpenny gives the performance of her career

Chelsea has played a blinder through this entire storyline, but she delivers one of the performances of her career next week as Alicia's ordeal comes to a head.

Speaking to Digital Spy previously, Chelsea said: "Creatively, it has been challenging, but that's often good to play. This is what we do our jobs for – to play important stories and authentically. But I can't lie that it wasn't difficult.

"You've got to go somewhere in your head for those scenes, and so it was very tiring on certain days – just playing someone who is so distraught and so tense."

    6. The episode has been written by Barbara Machin...

As one of the show's longest running writers, Barbara has penned scripts for Casualty since 1990 and is often brought back in to write special one-off episodes.

Show boss Lucy Raffety previously revealed to Digital Spy that Barbara would be writing this year's series finale, saying: "Barbara writes character studies beautifully. The series finale will see the culmination of this story, and will probably divide the audience."

    7. ...And it'll be very different in feel

Casualty has never been afraid to break out of its usual house-style on occasions and this episode is no exception. While it's not as unique as last year's groundbreaking 'One Shot' episode, next week's scenes are very different in feel to previous series finales.

From the way it's shot, to clever editing tricks, voiceovers and flashbacks – the episode's main focus is on Alicia and Eddie's account of their night together, while the drama back at the hospital (which is equally tense) acts as the B story.

    8. There's a big twist in the second half

Although this episode does shy away from focusing on the big stunts we've seen in series finale's previously, that doesn't mean it won't be without its drama.

After a highly emotionally day, Alicia is relieved to head home – only to be rocked by an unwelcome visit that has devastating consequences. Fans will have to wait and see just who arrives at Alicia's door – and what happens afterwards – but we can reveal that it will have long-lasting repercussions for more than one character…

    9. And it ends on a HUGE cliffhanger

We're not going to give too much more away about this one, but we already know that the series finale will pave the way for one of the biggest episodes the show has ever aired.

Series 33 will kick off with a huge stunt that will rip through the heart of Holby and leave more than one character's life hanging in the balance. Further information is under wraps for now, but if you were expecting the drama to wrap up after this episode, you couldn't be more wrong!

Casualty airs its series finale on Saturday, August 4 on BBC One.

Casualty will air a violent showdown between Alicia Munroe and Eddie McAllister during this weekend's series finale as their rape plot reaches a dramatic conclusion.

Alicia (Chelsea Halfpenny) has taken centre stage in a highly topical sexual consent story, which has seen her left traumatised after a night with Eddie.

Alicia claims that Eddie took advantage of her after going back to her house, while he claims that they had consensual sex and he did nothing wrong.

Although the pair have very different perspectives of what happened on the fateful night, the story will come to a head on Saturday (August 4) when Alicia finally decides to report Eddie to the police.

Plagued with Eddie's voice in her head, the episode will kick off with Alicia arriving at the police station, where she reports the attack and gives a statement to the police.

When Alicia is interviewed by police officer Vic, she admits to flirting with Eddie and kissing him, but insists that she felt ill by the time she got home and did not want to have sex.

Alicia insists that Eddie was aware of this but chose to ignore her, but is thrown when she's confronted with some shock CCTV footage that could change everything.

As Alicia fights for justice, Eddie is arrested at the hospital – but gives a very different version of events during his own police interview.

With emotions running high, a furious Eddie later breaks his bail and confronts Alicia at her house, where the truth of the fateful night is finally revealed to viewers.

However, as the pair's confrontation turns violent, Eddie lashes out at Alicia – with devastating repercussions. Will Alicia be alright?
