Exclamation Beatrix (Bea) Nilsson (Bonnie Anderson)

Neighbours is gearing up to introduce soap fans to Elly Conway's estranged half-sister Beatrix 'Bea' Nilsson – and they're bringing a huge Australian music star in too.

Australia's Got Talent winner Bonnie Anderson has joined the soap as a new regular, playing wild child Bea who's introduced as Elly's (Jodi Anasta) half-sister – and Neighbours' matriarch Susan Kennedy's (Jackie Woodburne) niece – in Bonnie's first major acting role.

Bea and Elly have a tempestuous history, and Bea's unexpected arrival leaves Elly fearing that her life if about to be turned upside down as Bea brings with her a dark past and a very familiar looking boyfriend.

Bonnie shot to fame after winning the first season of Australia's Got Talent back in 2007 when she was just 12 years old, and has previously toured Australia with UK The X Factor star Olly Murs too.

"I do pinch myself, this is an amazing job to have, even though I started filming in February, it still feels surreal being on set, seeing how it all happens and being a part of it," Bonnie said.

"To be able to show a different side of me, and work on characters is really fun and I am really lucky to be here."

Neighbours executive producer Jason Herbison added: "We were so impressed with Bonnie when we first met her that we created the character of 'Bea' especially for her. She is a true talent and a perfect fit for Neighbours – I can't wait to see what the future holds."

Bonnie's first episode of Neighbours airs on Channel 5 in the UK on Friday, May 18.

Neighbours reveals newcomer Bea's first scenes as her arrival shocks Elly Conway.

Elly's sister is here to stay!

Neighbours has revealed a first look at Elly Conway's sister Beatrix making her arrival in Erinsborough.

Show bosses have just announced the casting of Aussie singer Bonnie Anderson in the role of Beatrix, who's a new regular for the show.

Beatrix – or Bea for short – makes her first appearance on Friday, May 18, when Elly is shocked to realise that she's in the area.

Elly (Jodi Anasta) is thrown when she spots a familiar-looking girl across the Lassiter's complex and decides to follow her.

In the end, Elly loses sight of the new arrival – but it's not long until she'll be reunited with Bea properly.

At the weekend, it was revealed that Bea's arrival will spark some big new storylines as she has a tempestuous history with Elly, which could turn the Ramsay Street schoolteacher's life upside down.

With Bea's dark past and a very familiar looking boyfriend, viewers can be assured that Bea's arrival will be anything but quiet.

Bonnie said recently: "I do pinch myself, this is an amazing job to have. Even though I started filming in February, it still feels surreal being on set, seeing how it all happens and being a part of it. To be able to show a different side of me and work on characters is really fun and I am really lucky to be here."

Neighbours' executive producer Jason Herbison added: "We were so impressed with Bonnie when we first met her that we created the character of 'Bea' especially for her. She is a true talent and a perfect fit for Neighbours – I can't wait to see what the future holds."

Neighbours airs these scenes on Friday, May 18 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.

Watch out, Ramsay Street residents – Finn Kelly is back in town! And it seems he's already up to his conniving ways.

The disgraced teacher (Rob Mills) has returned to Erinsborough with new girlfriend Beatrix (Bonnie Anderson).

It can't be a coincidence that Bea is actually Elly's (Jodi Anasta) half-sister.

Returning to Ramsay Street after years on the streets, Bea is hoping to reunite with her estranged family. And while Elly welcomes her sibling with open arms, Bea is reluctant to open up.

"Bea wants to be close with her family, but she can't be, because she has no trust," Neighbours newcomer Bonnie, 23, tells TV WEEK.

"She's been let down too many times."

Hoping to bond, Elly plans a day of quality time with Bea. But the younger Conway appears resentful of the relationships Elly has formed with the Kennedys and even Xanthe.

In another ominous sign, it's clear Finn has quite a hold on Bea.

We last saw Finn being led off to a prison hospital. Viewers may remember the manipulative teacher plotting to steal Susan's (Jackie Woodburne) job as school principal.

When his dastardly plan to swap Susan's MS medication for painkillers was thwarted, Finn tried to flee to Hong Kong, with an infatuated Xanthe in tow.

But the pair were pulled off the plane by police before they could get away.

Finn's undoing came when Xanthe managed to record his confession before he suddenly collapsed. Finn was taken to hospital and diagnosed with a life-threatening brain aneurysm.

Now, as Bea returns from her reunion to debrief with her boyfriend, the young brunette looks to be wrapped around Finn's finger.

"She's got a heart of gold, she really has," Bonnie says. "And when she loves, it's all-in or nothing with her. It's very obvious with her relationship."

But we soon discover there's more to their romance than meets the eye when Bea calls Finn "Patrick".

Bea really has no idea who her boyfriend is. So what is Finn up to?

Neighbours fury as Bea Nilsson feels betrayed by Elly Conway again
Mark Brennan inadvertently sparks a row between the sisters

    http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neig...nway-dyslexia/

Neighbours'Bea Nilsson is left outraged next week as her sister Elly Conway spreads the word that she may have dyslexia.

Bea (Bonnie Anderson) finds herself the centre of attention as Elly tries to support her following the recent dramas with their mum Liz.

Elly (Jodi Anasta) is determined to show Bea that they're a united force from now on, but she crosses the line after taking a peek at some of the written work she's been doing for her vocational course.

Through reading the work, Elly spots that Bea might have dyslexia and decides to discreetly share the information with her sibling's boss Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor).

Mark then tries to help in his own way by making concessions for Bea at the garage, but she's embarrassed when she realises what's going on.

Later on, Bea angrily confronts Elly in the middle of the school courtyard – with a number of the students watching on. Elly is mortified as Bea furiously demands that she should stay out of her business from now on.

Elly does later apologise for overstepping the mark and tries to be there for Bea in a less intrusive way, but Bea is still unsure how to relate to her big sister and continues to isolate herself.

However, with word that Bea will soon start dating Ned Willis, could he be the unexpected source of support that she really needs right now?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Tuesday, August 7 and Wednesday, August 8 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.

Neighbours fire drama sees Bea Nilsson's life hang in the balance
Mel causes chaos when she commits arson.

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...on-fire-drama/

Neighbours lines up a life-or-death situation for Bea Nilsson next week as she gets caught up in a fire at the garage.

Bea (Bonnie Anderson) looks set to pay the price for Mel Lohan's scheming as the ruthless newcomer commits arson to get her own way.

Viewers know that Mel (Jacqui Purvis) wants Lucas Fitzgerald to sell the garage to Robinson Pines, leaving a question mark hanging over Bea's job.

Next week, Bea's anxiety grows when there's a sudden spate of cancellations at the business, which could scare Lucas into going ahead with the sale.

Another issue is Bea's new boss Heath being unusually hands-off, but she realises there may be more to this than meets the eye when she discovers that he's actively turning away work.

Unsure of who to trust and determined not to lose her job without a fight, Bea pulls an all-nighter to help turn around the garage's fortunes.

This coincides with Mel changing tactics in her scheming against the garage, sneaking inside and starting a fire.

Mel has no idea that Bea is on site, enjoying a power nap in a van as she takes a break from her long night shift.

Will Bea wake up and notice the flames before it's too late?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Friday, February 22 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Exclusive: Neighbours star Bonnie Anderson teases trouble for Bea and Ned
    Will Finn drive them apart?

    https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/nei...a-ned-trouble/

Neighbours star Bonnie Anderson has hinted that Bea Nilsson and Ned Willis could be about to hit the rocks.

The couple's relationship will run into a number of problems over the coming weeks, thanks to the ongoing presence of seemingly-reformed villain Finn Kelly.

As we've already revealed, Finn is about to move into the Kennedys' home after escaping a prison sentence for his many crimes.

Unsurprisingly, Finn's arrival on Ramsay Street doesn't go down well with Ned, who will grow increasingly possessive of Bea as a result.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Bonnie – who plays Bea – said: "There is a lot going on in her relationship with Ned because he is being very controlling and he's taking things a bit too far. She just wants to be her own person.

"Ned loves her so much and doesn't want her to be hurt, but he is power-tripping and he's very controlling. She doesn’t like Finn much at all – she has no feelings for him whatsoever but she is aware he has feelings for her and feels very uncomfortable. She is almost being pushed closer to Finn because of the way Ned is acting. "

Bonnie added: "There's definitely trouble ahead. They are butting heads at the moment because he is really just trying to take over her life with the controlling stuff.

"It's really annoying for Bea as she's been through it all before with Finn. She has explained to him so many times that she is a fully capable grown woman. It starts to hurt Bea because she starts to think that he doesn't believe she is capable of fending for herself.

"Ned says one thing to her but then goes out of his way to make things worse. There is definitely trouble but I hope they work through things. They love each other very much, so we will see."

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
