Innocent, the four-parter was created by Chris Lang – the respected writer behind Unforgotten – and is being produced by his indie TXTV. Lee Ingleby leads the cast as David Collier; while Hermione Norris takes on the role of Alice, Tara’s sister who has been raising Matt’s children while he has been in prison. Other cast members include Daniel Ryan (Mount Pleasant), Angel Coulby (The Tunnel), Nigel Lindsay (Victoria), Elliott Cowan (Da Vinci’s Demons) and Adrian Rowlins (Dickensian).

Innocent tells the story of David Collier who, having been convicted of murdering his wife Tara, has served seven years in prison. He’s always protested his innocence and faces the rest of his life behind bars. With the support of his brother, David appeals the conviction and to his utter astonishment is acquitted on a technicality. Although suspicion still hangs heavy over him, he is free to walk from court and to begin the long road to rebuilding his life and to restore his reputation. But at what cost to him personally and those around him?
