A former Britain's Got Talent star is joining EastEnders as the newest addition to the Kazemi family.

Shaheen Jafargholi ​- who reached the final in 2007 belting out a Michael Jackson classic - will be playing ​Carmel Kazemi's (Bonnie Langford) son Shakil ​in a new big storyline for the family.​

The 15-year-old younger brother of Kush ​(Davood Ghadami), arrives in Walford with a plan to reunite his divorced parents, but things are complicated now his father is in another relationship.

So, we're anticipating it will be kind of like The Parent Trap without the twin.

Anyway, once he arrives in Albert Square, he settles in well and will end up finding his own romance.

Elsewhere, ​Jafargholi​ has appeared in Casualty and Torchwood and even appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show following BGT where he sang ​Jackson's hit 'I'll Be There'.

He also performed at a Michael Jackson memorial concert in Los Angeles following the superstar's death in 2009.

EastEnders teens Louise Mitchell and Bex Fowler are set to clash over newcomer Shakil Kazemi in a new storyline.

The schoolgirls struck up a tenuous friendship last month, but soon found themselves on opposing sides when Jay Mitchell's relationship with 14-year old Star 'Linzi' Bragg was exposed.

Any chance of the pair putting their differences aside will be tarnished when Shakil arrives on the Square and immediately catches the eyes of both girls.

Fans will have to wait and see which girl Shakil prefers, but the tension between Bex and Louise will simmer next week as they both vie for his attention.

Shaheen Jafargholi - who reached the Britain's Got Talent final in 2007 with a Michael Jackson classic - has been cast as Carmel's young son Shakil and he will arrive in Walford this week in a bid to reunite his estranged parents.

Following a tricky start, the youngster soon finds himself settling in well and it has been teased that he will find romance, but is it going to be with Bex or Louise?

EastEnders will air Shakil's first scenes in an hour-long episode on Wednesday, May 4 on BBC One.
