TV Week has the following H&A plot teasers for the first week of the new year:

    New Bay Dawning.

Get Ready For Another Big Year In Summer Bay.

We know what Alf would probably say about all the action that unfolds in Home and Away's blockbuster season premiere: "Flamin' heck!"

There are plenty of tears in Summer Bay as the locals come to terms with the tragic death of Kat and her unborn baby.

    A grief-stricken Ash blames Robbo.

Ash takes drastic measures to exact his revenge, which invites a new generation of River Boys to town.

Led by bad boy Dean (Patrick O'Connor), this bunch of yahoos is bound to stir up trouble.

Meanwhile, mystery surrounds the arrival of newcomer Jasmine Delaney (Sam Frost). Who is she and what is she running from?

    Farewell, My Baby.

Summer Bay Gathers To Mourn The Loss Of Kat And Her Unborn Child.

Fans of Home and Away will finally get the answers they've been waiting for this week when the Aussie drama returns. But be sure to have the tissues ready.

Kat Chapman (Pia Miller) and her unborn baby's tragic death in the final episode of 2017 was one of the iconic drama's most heartbreaking moments.

In a gripping week in Summer Bay, the local residents gather at Kat's funeral to say goodbye one last time - while a bitter Ash (George Mason) plans to avenge her death.

    Gone Girl.

It was meant to be a new beginning for Kat and boyfriend Robbo (Jake Ryan) after she sprung him from the local police station and they fled the Bay.

Fans will recall Robbo, aka Beckett Reid, was arrested for the murder of assassin Novak and faced life in prison. But Kat refused to give up on her beau and planned their escape.

"He wanted a fresh start with Kat away from everything," Jake, 34, tells TV WEEK of his character's motives. "And a love like Kat & Robbo's is worth gambling more than life on."

But the couple's road to happiness was cruelly cut short and ended in tragedy. Expectant mother Kat was driving when their car collided with Jasmine Delaney's (Sam Frost) vehicle.

Kat persuades Robbo to flee the scene of the horror crash before the police arrived. She promised him they'd reunite.

Sadly, that would never be the case. And in emotional scenes, Kat died in hospital.

Her death and the loss of her unborn baby weighs heavily on Summer Bay's residents.

For Ash, the pain of losing his unborn child and former lover is almost too much.

In his grief, he blames Robbo and vows to get revenge - at any cost.

On the day of the funeral, Ash is nowhere to be found. To complete the order of service in his absence, Roo and Alf take charge.

Meanwhile, Tori (Penny McNamee) asks Justin to help locate her missing boyfriend. She's worried she and Ash are drifting apart.

"Tori is at a big point in her life," Penny, 34, shares. "She's confessed she's in love with Ash, but it could all be too much."

For poor Ash, the last 12 months have been devastating. First, his sister, Billie, succumbed to cancer and then he was forced to give up guardianship of his sister's daughter, Luc, for her safety.

Will this latest blow be what it takes to push him over the edge?

Later, resident doc Tori is at the hospital when she receives a phone call. It's Robbo. He doesn't know about Kat's death, and she must give him the crushing news.

On the other end, Robbo hangs up and crumbles to the floor in anguish.

    Goodbye to you.

Alf leads the funeral service with an emotional tribute to Kat. As he does, Ash arrives. He's carrying a small white casket to represent his unborn child.

Ash walks solemnly down the aisle and places the casket beside Kat's. As emotions well up, Tori rushes to his side.

"There's another, little life we're mourning today," Tori tells the tearful congregation. "And I know how much his dad wanted to meet him."

Before she can finish, Ash bolts from the church. A concerned Justin goes after him, but his mate insists he's fine.

The truth, though, is that he has a plan - and he can't waste any time. How far will Ash go to find peace?

    Hide And Seek.

Justin And Ash Go Hunting For Robbo.

The woman he loves is gone. But Robbo's troubles are about to get a lot worse this week when Ash finds out where he's hiding.

In tense scenes, Ash (George Mason) confronts Robbo (Jake Ryan) for deserting Kat (Pia Miller) after the fatal crash. The angry conflict culminates in a violent brawl.

It all begins at the Morgan house, where Tori (Penny McNamee) tells her brother, Justin (James Stewart), about her fears for Robbo's health.

He's outraged Tori cares about him after what happened to Kat. But the doctor has her reasons.

She admits she spoke to Robbo shortly after Kat's death and says she wants to check on him.

Justin asks if he's at the address he gave her, but Tori isn't sure.

Against better judgement, Justin tells Ash about Robbo's hideout. And together, they drive to the property.

When they arrive, a desperate Robbo hides in a closet.

But the pair soon work out the crim has been living there, forcing Robbo to make a hasty escape.

But the injuries he sustained in the crash are too severe, and Ash easily tackles Robbo to the ground.

As the two men clash, Ash delivers a punch to Robbo's injured ribcage.

Fearing the consequences of the anger-fuelled assault, Justin yells at Ash to stop and tries to break it up.

If Ash isn't careful, he could join Robbo on the wanted list!

    Who Is Jasmine Delaney?

Sam Frost Brings Secrets To Summer Bay.

The mysterious woman from the car accident, who fans know as Jasmine Delaney, wakes from her coma this week.

But her nightmare is only just beginning.

While driving to Kat's funeral, Leah (Ada Nicodemou) notices Jasmine (Sam Frost) wandering along the road.

Leah pulls over and offers her assistance. But she is surprised when the young woman yells at her to leave.

Jasmine tells Leah she left the hospital voluntarily and doesn't know where to go.

"She is quite guarded and has an anxious energy," Sam, 28, tells TV WEEK. "You can tell she has a dark past and secrets she's battling."

After some coaxing, Leah takes Jasmine to The Diner.

Slowly, she lets her guard down and insists she had to get away.

But who is she running from?

    Health On The Line.

Doctors Deliver Maggie Some Devastating News.

In the 2017 season finale of Home and Away, the Astoni's were back on track.

Ben (Rohan Nichol) gave Brody (Jackson Heywood) his blessing to date his daughter, Ziggy (Sophie Dillman). And Coco (Anna Cocquerel) developed a crush on newcomer Ryder (Lukas Radovich).

But in a shocking turn of events, Maggie (Kestie Morassi) collapsed on the beach. With no-one in sight and the tide coming in, the school principal was in peril.

Luckily, her husband, Ben, finds her and calls for an ambulance. In hospital, tests are run and she shrugs off Ben's concerns.

The couple returns home, where Maggie is told to rest and await the test results.

Later that night, she collapses again and returns to hospital. Ben wants to tell their daughters, but Maggie is hesitant.

However, Maggie soon runs out of excuses to keep her health woes a secret when the doctors deliver surprising news.

    Will Maggie be OK?

No, I don't think so. She is supposed to have a dark past/secrets (don't they all!!), but I don't believe she has any connection to Robbo & it was only co-incidence that she was the one driving the car that they collided with. As we saw in the finale here, Kat was distracted talking to Robbo while she was driving & went through a give way sign i.e. the accident appeared to be Kat's fault, not Jasmine's (which was confirmed when we saw Tori tell Justin at the hospital that she heard the ambo's say that Kat didn't give way). Also, after the accident, Robbo went over to Jasmine's car & checked her pulse (she was unconscious) to see if she was still alive, & there was no sign that he recognised her etc.

Currently, here in Sydney we are having the 4 episode/movie length episodes (7pm - 9pm) tonight (Thurs 1st Feb), then again next Thurs (8 Feb). The following two Thursdays after that i.e. 15 Feb & 22 Feb there are single episodes only. For Mon - Wed, it remains single episodes, as per usual.

Like Perdita mentions, Aust fans should check their local guides for any possible late changes.

(I assume that these changes are due to the Winter Olympics being on Ch7 from Feb 9??. It will be interesting to see whether there will also be more changes when Ch7 has the Commonwealth Games in April.)
