    Exclamation EastEnders Spoilers 18th - 22nd Sept 2017

Meanwhile, these new EastEnders pictures show the anxious moment that Carmel Kazemi is taken off for surgery after receiving some worrying news.

Viewers have just seen Carmel's son Kush get whisked away for an urgent operation after being diagnosed with Brugada syndrome, a genetic condition which affects the way electrical signals pass through the heart.

Despite some fans fearing otherwise, Kush manages to make it through his surgery with no complications.

Sadly though, the Kazemi family's troubles aren't over as it's quickly confirmed that Carmel has also tested positive for Brugada syndrome and needs an operation of her own.

Kush and Stacey's young son Arthur will also need to be checked out, and much to their frustration, there'll be no speedy answers until he can see a specialist.

These latest pictures see Carmel looking nervous as she's taken to surgery, but will she be okay?

EastEnders airs more anxious scenes for Linda Carter tonight (September 21) as she attends an important appointment at the hospital.

Linda (Kellie Bright) recently confided in Jack Branning about how she was battling cancer during her time away from Walford, but she's decided to keep her family in the dark.

In tonight's EastEnders episode (September 21), Linda seriously considers telling her husband Mick everything – but she doesn't get a chance when he reveals some surprising news of his own.

With the blessing and support of meddling Fi Browning, Mick has decided that it's time to take Linda away on holiday – so talk quickly turns to possible destinations and the moment is lost.

Determined not to ruin Mick's good mood, Linda heads to the hospital alone but is clearly worried about the possibility of receiving bad news.

Fortunately, Jack has been keeping a close eye on Linda and follows her to the appointment, not wanting her to be alone when she needs support the most.
