    Monday (1)

Having spoken to the police, Robert tells Michelle that Rich has a cast-iron alibi and couldn't be the vandal. Robert then offers Chesney £5,000 as a goodwill gesture. To Adam's annoyance, Chesney accepts, glad to put the whole thing to rest.

Soon afterwards, Robert admits that he's going to struggle to pay Chesney. Michelle offers to help him out, but Robert won't hear of it. While nobody is looking, Robert grabs some cash out of the Bistro till and heads off to the casino. In desperation, Robert gambles away his cash, hoping he'll drop lucky.

Meanwhile, when Leanne explains that it's not working out at The Rovers, Eva insists she can move in with her and Aidan. But when Steve suggests to Leanne that she and Oliver move in with him so they can share child minding duties, will Leanne agree to give it a go?

Elsewhere, Erica starts work at the Bistro. She's mortified when Dev and Mary sit down at a table, explaining that they're there to offer her moral support.

Also, Billy worries that Summer is bottling up her grief.

Finally, Michelle spots Will on the new dating app Maria is using and encourages Maria to get in touch with him, Adam warns Eva not to sign her new office job contract until he's checked it over, while Craig admits to Sophie and Chesney that he may be fired from the police force because of the way he obtained the evidence against Neil.

    Monday (2)

As the croupier calls final bets, Robert places his last chips on red. Telling Robert how disappointed she is, Michelle leaves him to it. Will Robert's gamble pay off?

Back on the street, Robert is horrified to see that Michelle's car has been vandalised. After persuading Luke to fix it before Michelle sees it, Robert returns home and apologises to Michelle for his behaviour. As Michelle snuggles up to Robert, relieved there have been no more attacks, Robert hides his unease.

Meanwhile, Steve and Leanne are clearly enjoying being the doting parents. They practise the controlled crying technique with Oliver in the hope he'll learn to sleep through.

Elsewhere, clearly fed up with Dev, Erica flirts with Zeedan and tells Liz she can share her room at Number 7 and Dev can have the sofa. Later, Dev confides in Erica that he's had an offer for the gym, but if he accepts it, it'll scupper Kevin's sale of the garage. Erica encourages him to go for it.

Also, having revealed that he's dumped his girlfriend, Luke offers to cook dinner for Alya. Alya is quietly thrilled, but as they sit down to eat they're interrupted by Robert, who begs Luke to fix Michelle's car window. Alya's disappointed.

Finally, Summer cries for her dad and Todd and Billy wish they could fix things for her, Aidan is jealous when Maria arranges a date with Will and they meet in The Rovers, while Bethany feels terrible when she finds out that Craig is at the police station being given his marching orders.

    Wednesday

When Dev reveals his plans to expand his kebab shop empire and offers Erica the job of project manager, she's thrilled. Erica confides in Liz that she's now changed her mind about Dev, but Liz is sceptical.

Soon afterwards, when Mary overhears Tim lambasting Kevin for doing the dirty on Anna with Erica, she hurries to find Dev. Kevin confronts Dev, furious that his buyer for the garage has pulled out as they intend to buy the gym instead. However, Kevin is shocked when Dev turns on him and reveals that he knows about his dalliance with Erica.

As the men square up to each other, Anna tells Dev that Erica did all the running and luckily Kevin saw sense and left her high and dry in a hotel room. How will Dev react?

Meanwhile, when Chesney confides in Gemma how much he's dreading Rich's court case, she warns him to watch his back. Chesney feels worse than ever. Robert meets up with Rich and warns him that the attacks have got to stop. Rich denies all knowledge.

Elsewhere, Toyah chats to Izzy about surrogacy and realises it could be the way forward for her.

Also today, in attempt to bond with Summer, Billy and Todd obtain some scrap metal from Tyrone and try to build a robot – something she used to do with her dad. Will Summer be impressed at their efforts?

Finally, Leanne and Steve struggle after another sleepless night with Oliver, while Nicola calls at Number 11 with the DNA results and Phelan's thrilled to discover he's her dad.

    Friday (1)

Having observed how well Steve and Leanne are getting on, Liz wonders if they have a future together. At the same time, Toyah and Eva persuade a reluctant Leanne to have a night out and leave Steve to babysit. Leanne borrows one of Eva's dresses, but when she returns home dressed to the nines and admits that she'd rather have a night in with a DVD, Steve is quietly thrilled.

When Leanne then presents him with County shirts for he and Oliver, Steve is overwhelmed and asks Leanne to marry him. Leanne is stunned.

Meanwhile, when Michelle overhears Alya telling Kate how Robert called at their flat and asked Luke to fix Michelle's car window but keep it a secret, Michelle's furious and rails at Robert for lying to her yet again.

Elsewhere, having heard how Erica cheated on their dad, Asha and Aadi decide to take revenge and drop water bombs from the Underworld balcony. Unfortunately they target Liz instead of Erica and Dev is livid.

Also, Will drops by and arranges another date with Maria. Having assured Maria she's totally cool with her seeing Will, Michelle suggests they all meet in the Bistro for a drink together.

Finally, when Billy sets about building a robot, it's clear he's clueless and Summer finds herself showing him what to do. Billy is delighted.

    Friday (2)

Leanne is incredulous over Steve's proposal and after listing all the reasons it would be a bad idea for them to get married, she heads out. Steve kicks himself, has he blown it?

Later, Leanne calls in The Rovers and knocking back the vodka, tells Eva and Toyah how Steve proposed to her. As Toyah and Eva crack jokes about Steve, Leanne becomes defensive.

Meanwhile, with the atmosphere between Robert and Michelle distinctly frosty, Maria suggests to Will they head into town. Glad to escape, Michelle offers them a lift. As Michelle sits alone in a bar, she's becomes aware she's being watched.

Elsewhere, when Gina overhears Mary berating the children for their revenge attack on Erica, she's pleased to realise Dev may now be single. Erica tears a strip off Mary for blabbing to Dev. When Mary defends her actions, Erica turns on her and claims that she only ever felt sorry for her. Mary is hurt. Gina marches up to Dev in The Rovers and tells him he's had a lucky escape where Erica's concerned. But is Dev ready to let Erica go?

Also, Phelan visits a church. In the confessional, he tells the priest that he deserves punishment for all his wrongdoing. Phelan returns home and apologises to Nicola for standing her up and suggests they meet up tomorrow. Nicola's not happy.

Finally, Billy assures Summer that he's not looking to replace Drew but hopes they can be friends, while Toyah is shocked to discover Eva's fake pregnancy.

Coronation Street's new Bethany twist sees Craig face the sack from the police
Coronation Street teen Craig Tinker could go from hero to zero next week as he faces the sack from the police force.
Craig (Colson Smith) risked everything last Friday (July 21) when he secretly recorded his superior officer Neil Clifton confessing to his involvement in Nathan Curtis's sex ring.
Although Craig's actions helped to bring about Neil's comeuppance, there's trouble in store next week as he confides in Sophie Webster and Chesney Brown about the fallout from what he's done.
Craig admits that he's now in serious danger of being dropped by the police for the unauthorised methods he used to extract a confession from Neil.
Although Craig knows it was well worth it as he helped to get justice for his best friend Bethany Platt, he's also gutted as he really wanted to progress further in the police.
Later on, Bethany feels terrible when she finds out that Craig is at the police station being given his marching orders by his bosses.
Is there any hope left for Craig's future in the force, or is he really about to lose his job for doing the right thing?
Corrie aired Neil's comeuppance last week, when Craig's heroics led to Bethany making an official statement against the corrupt copper.
It's since been confirmed that Neil and Nathan will both face trial later in the year, which is sure to provide even more dramatic scenes in the autumn.
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, July 31 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.

I mean I don't know as I'm not in the police force, but I really can't imagine that the police would sack Craig over this. He is a trainee and he did what he thought was best and they know why he did it and they know that without his actions they would still have a corrupt copper on their hands. Surely a word with him would be sufficient. I really can't see this being a sacking offence.

In reality parkerman you are spot on ,unless things have changed since 2003. Craig would get management advice along the lines that his actions might have jeopardised a prosecution. His first action should have been to report Neil to a senior officer. But given that Craig was about to do this before being forced to go with Neil ,where Craig, a probationer, used his initiative to record Neil and then pass the information on straightaway. Craig should get a commendation. Shame on corrie if they use this as a dismissal issue, totally wrong. From a negative P.R. point of view the press would have a field day ,post trial of Nathan and Co, to publish such a story on such police action , and I'm sure someone would give them the details.

Thanks for confirmation of my own thoughts, Glen.

In addition, the police have actually acted on Craig's information, so aren't they guilty of being accessories?

Very good point Mr.P, they have acted on his information, what's good for the goose etc. Get the feeling that from corries point of view Craig has served his purpose in the Bethany case ,so perhaps no role for a serving police officer on the street. So if Craigs' character is to continue he'll need a change of direction. If this is the plan let it be completely Craigs' decision, not some soap police contrived dismissal concoction.
