Neighbours introduces a new rival for Ben Kirk next week as he fails to hit it off with his replacement at the garage.
With Ben (Felix Mallard) now back at school and spending much less time on his mechanic duties, Tyler Brennan recruits a new apprentice to take his place – and it's not long before tension flares up.
Although Ben assumes that he'll be showing newcomer Evan the ropes, it turns out that his successor is way more experienced than him as he already has three years of training under his belt.
Evan is also far from friendly and doesn't waste much time showing his superiority, leaving poor Ben wondering where he fits in at work – especially when Tyler suggests he should cut his hours even further.

While Ben is far from impressed by Evan, one person who does take a shine to him is Yashvi Rebecchi (Olivia Junkeer).
Yashvi is intrigued when she discovers that Evan shares her interest in BMXs and she goes all-out to win his attention, with mixed success.
When Ben notices Yashvi's obvious crush, he puts his own animosity towards Evan to one side and even offers to play matchmaker between the pair. Could this be the start of a new friendship between Ben and Yashvi?
Newcomer Evan is played by actor Joe Klocek, who previously played the role of Heath in Aussie teen drama Nowhere Boys.
