I think Max will kill Stephen and then throw his body into the gas main explosion.
or Stephen will kill Max and do the same. And then die horribly himself.

    Oh sorry just wishful thinking.

Are we sure it is an actual gas explosion and not just Phil getting redder and redder till he finally explodes taking Sharon and Ben with him as little pieces of them rain down on Jane's wheel chair causing it to crash into Steven and Ian?

That'll do nicely Mr.P, good couple of episodes right there, and maybe finishing with Ian and Jane giving a full and frank confession to their involvement in the Lucy Beale murder and showing total remorse in their last breaths. duff, duff.
P.S. We can always wish !

EastEnders boss John Yorke has promised a massive Christmas for the show, assuring fans that the episode will go down in history. The storyline will centre around the Branning family, with Max’s revenge scheme tipped to reach the boil and Lauren and Abi due for explosive exits. To make it even more exciting, EastEnders have brought back acclaimed writer Simon Ashdown, who was instrumental in the creation of the key Branning characters and has penned some of their biggest moments, not least of all the 25th anniversary live episode and the reveal of Max and Stacey’s affair in 2007. Viewers will first see Simon’s work back on screen on Thursday 7th December as EastEnders will be airing a special Branning focused episode which will see Max’s recent actions lead to massive consequences. And this will be the catalyst for the huge events around Christmas. John Yorke told Metro.co.uk: ‘I’m delighted to welcome one of EastEnders’ greatest writers back to the show. Simon has delivered some of EastEnders biggest moments and I hope people will agree that his Christmas episodes are right up there with his very best work.’ An EastEnders spokesperson added: ‘With Christmas rapidly approaching in Albert Square, things are set to explode in catastrophic style. Secrets and lies are exposed and families are torn apart forever. With the Branning’s at the heart of Christmas day, the special festive episodes will be written by Simon Ashdown. The Brannings will be at the heart of the drama and it is set to be a classic EastEnders Christmas that will go down in Walford history.’ Simon last wrote for EastEnders when he penned the Christmas Day episode of 2013.

Well Abbie and Lauren are barely best friends.. there's a long way to go until they are looking out for each other and I don't think Max has shown an inkling of care about either of them - for perhaps very good reason.

So unless he bonds them all and then breaks it all up again?

Sister double death was done very recently .. again would just be too much.

Abi losing the baby would be a sort of crap storyline too as they've already had one miscarriage storyline this year too. Although if they're going straight away then it almost doesn't matter, but treating something flippantly would be awful.

How many people will be mad at Max when the truth comes out? Will Jane come back or is she gone for good?

That'll make a change having the Christmas storyline centre round the Brannings. I hope the "explosive" exits will rock the Square.

And is the return of Simon Ashdown to make it all more exciting a tacit admission that the current writers are not really up to the job?
