Emmerdale lines up another horror attack next week as one of Eric Pollard's tormentors gets his comeuppance in brutal style.

The village was recently left in shock by the news that Eric had been attacked with a baseball bat when thuggish schoolboys Josh and Jamie tried to raid David Metcalfe's shop.

Still free to run riot after getting away with Eric's assault, Josh and Jamie turn their attentions back to Jacob Gallagher by cruelly bullying him next week.

Determined to stand up for himself, Jacob retaliates by trashing his enemies' bikes – but it proves to be a disastrous decision when they prepare to beat him up as revenge.

As Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) watches on, he finally makes a courageous choice by wrongly taking the blame for the destruction himself – saving Jacob from a beating.

Dan agrees to pay for the damage and arranges to meet Josh and Jamie at the cricket pavilion the next day, but he secretly has other plans as he tries to redeem himself for his recent cowardice around the two boys.

The next day, Ross Barton overhears what's going on and suggests to Jacob that violence may be the best way to deal with his bullies once and for all.

Soon afterwards, Dan turns up at the cricket pavilion as planned, but he's shocked to see Josh lying motionless with blood seeping out of his head.

Someone is watching from the shadows as Dan makes the worrying discovery, but who attacked Josh and could Dan find himself getting the blame for this?
