Sometimes a break from relationships is better IMHO. Plus Mark seems to fall "in love" so easily!

Neighbours: Paul plays dirty at the Erinsborough barbie bash!

Whose sausage will sizzle the most in next week's culinary showdown?

Get ready for hilarious hi-jinks in Neighbours next week at the Erinsborough Bonza Barbie Bash, as naughty Paul Robinson turns a fun family day out into an excuse to get one over on arch rival Gary Canning. Of course he does...

The event has been organised as a light-hearted promo opportunity for local businesses, where teams of two have to prepare a barbecue feast, but there's a comedy catch - the couple have their hands tied together to make using the tongs deliberately tricky.

As Erinsborough's eager entrepreneurs fire up the charcoal, the spirit of friendly competition threatens to turn personal and decidedly ugly as sworn enemies Paul and Gary square up over who's sausage will cause a sizzling sensation.

Our pictures show Paul and his accomplice, Gary's flighty ex Brooke, messing about with the rope that's meant to keep their tongs tied - are they planning to sabotage the contest? Well, what did you expect from cheating Paul?

Elsewhere, there's drama for Amy Williams when she spots Leo Tanaka getting flirty with another local at the barbie bash, and finds it all a bit too hot to handle. Amy's jealousy causes her to spiral further into emotional despair following the recent reveal the pair are half siblings - which obviously put a stop to their burgeoning romance.

Later, Amy's ute is involved in a horrific crash at the hostel, but did she have anything to do with it?

But never mind the crash, what we all want to know is whether Paul and Brooke cheat their way to be crowned king and queen of the barbecue...

Catch this episode of Neighbours on Monday 1 May on Channel 5 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm

Neighbours brain damage scare for David Tanaka after he's badly injured in the Backpackers accident

Dr Karl has a worrying diagnosis for his loved ones.

David Tanaka's loved ones are told that he could have brain damage in emotional Neighbours scenes next week.

The Erinsborough doctor faces a health scare of his very own after he's caught up in a horror accident at the Erinsborough Backpackers.

David (Takaya Honda) is waking up after a night on the sofa at the Backpackers when Amy Williams's truck suddenly goes crashing into the building.

The incident sees a set of shelves fall on top of David, knocking him unconscious and crushing his chest too.

When David's brother Leo (Tim Kano) joins forces with Tyler Brennan, they manage to free him just as the emergency services arrive.

Later at the hospital, Dr Karl Kennedy isn't able to offer any instant reassurances to David's family and friends – revealing that he has bruising on the brain and it could be serious.

In a worst-case scenario, this means David could face problems with his speech and his memory – but it's a waiting game to find out whether he really will be badly affected or not.

A Neighbours insider told Digital Spy: "Tensions run high at David's hospital bedside, with Leo blaming Amy for the accident even though she says it was nothing to do with her.

"Even Paul can't help doubting his daughter, knowing how bad this looks for her and how she's been behaving strangely recently.

"It's Aaron who steps in and tries to stop the bickering, pointing out that they should be concentrating on David.

"Aaron is also fearing the worst himself, feeling terrible that he didn't confess his love for David sooner and worrying that he'll have missed his chance if David doesn't pull through."

Neighbours airs these scenes on Tuesday, May 2 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.

Poor David, he looks ghastly there D:
I don't recall any other character's face looking that bad in hospital...Priya's face was pretty much intact after her accident, Rhys and Jack weren't that bad either.

Neighbours star Mavournee Hazel has taken viewers behind the scenes of the terrifying Backpackers crash episode next week.

The actress, who plays Piper Willis in the soap, reveals how she performed one of her own stunts and shows the secrets behind exactly how the crew filmed the big moment.

Mavournee was visibly nervous about the scene, which involved her diving out of the way of the truck, as she was talked through it all by the stunt coordinator.

The accident occurs when Piper and David Tanaka (Takaya Honda) are preparing for the day ahead after waking up at the Backpackers when Amy Williams's vehicle suddenly reverses into the building.

The pair are both injured in the crash with David seriously ill in hospital after a set of shelves fall on top of him, knocking him unconscious and leaving him with possible brain damage.

In the behind-the-scenes video, we also got to meet Takaya's stunt double who actually had to be in the scene when the shelves toppled over him, which made the whole thing even more frightening to watch.

We'll have to wait and see if they both recover from the accident when it airs next week.

Neighbours airs these scenes on Tuesday, May 2 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
