With more product to sell than she ever imagined, Marilyn's new business takes over the Diner this week. But one person isn't buying: Irene.

After recruiting Kirby (Angelina Thompson) to help with her social media, Marilyn (Emily Symons) is finally making progress as the brand ambassador for skincare company Stunning Organics. But in doing so she's turned the Diner into an office.

Irene's (Lynne McGranger) patience wears thin when she discovers Marilyn is offering customers free coffees with every purchase. The friends have a heated argument in the kitchen, with Kirby stuck in the middle. After some apologising, they get back on track - until more boxes arrive.

Home and Away has teased a new shock for Irene Roberts, who's about to be drawn into the drama surrounding Harper and Dana Matheson.

Irene is in for a nasty surprise as she realises that there's much more to her new lodger than meets the eye.

Australian viewers have recently seen Irene welcome Harper into her home after deciding to rent out a room.

Harper seemed like the perfect houseguest, but she was secretly harbouring her sister Dana, who's on the run after being framed by her ex-boyfriend for drug charges.

The Matheson sisters were given breathing space when Irene took time away from the Bay, unwittingly leaving them both with an empty house.

However, a new promo shows that Irene will be back home in next week's Australian episodes ? and it doesn't take long for her to rumble Harper's secret.

Fortunately, it seems that Irene will give the siblings the benefit of the doubt after a chat with local policeman Cash Newman, who's also secretly helping them.

Irene tells Harper: "I'm not the kind of person to throw two innocent women to the wolves."

Meanwhile, another tense clip shows corrupt policeman Detective Will Madden try to arrest Harper under suspicion of helping Dana.

This prompts Dana to come out of hiding and hand herself over, potentially sealing her fate.

Home and Away fans in the UK will see these scenes on Channel 5 in October.

Irene is arrested in dramatic fashion and forced to spend the night behind bars this week. And with the odds seemingly stacked against the Summer Bay stalwart, future is looking bleak.

In Home And Away, Irene (Lynne McGranger) waits impatiently at the police station for cop Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) to arrive.

She and Harper (Jessica Redmayne) were arrested for harbouring fugitive Dana (Ally Harris). It's a crime that could see them both land them in jail.

Dana and John (Shane Withington) are furious, but scramble to make it right ? the only problem is that Cash is nowhere to be seen. He's been suspended for his actions and has taken a leave of absence.

While he believes he did the right thing in exposing corrupt cop Madden (Jonny Pasvolsky), Cash's radical decisions may cost him his badge.

But without his job, Cash is lost.

"Cash feels so justified in his cause that he can't imagine why he could be punished for fighting police corruption," Nicholas tells TV WEEK.

After several calls from John, he finally arrives at the station. Irene is relieved ? until Cash explains that, as long as he's suspended, there's nothing he can do to help her.

Furthermore, the magistrate can't see them until morning, so Irene and Harper must spend the night behind bars.

Cash rages at the injustice of it all.

Is the job he loves worth the pain?

Irene and Harper are released next morning, but advised to get themselves lawyers ahead of their day in court. Harper gets to it immediately, but Irene seems to brush off the advice. As days go by, John notices she's yet to seek counsel.

Will her avoiding the issue see things go very wrong for her in court?

Despite trying to ignore the legal trouble she's in, Irene faces court this week and will finally learn her fate. Could she go to jail?

In a tense week in Home And Away, Irene (Lynne McGranger) arrives at court for her hearing.

Anxious and shaking, she's greeted by her lawyer Greta (Amanda McGregor), who briefs her on the opposing bench ? and the judge. He's a stickler for the rules and they have a tough fight ahead.

Irene was arrested for harbouring wanted fugitive Dana (Ally Harris) and has since tried to distance herself from the incident ? and her friends ? as much as possible. But if she doesn't fight back, her fear could be her downfall.

"Irene was hesitant, because she was trying to convince herself it wasn't going to come to anything," Lynne, 70, tells TV WEEK. "The thought of going back to jail would be too much to bear."

As the hearing gets underway, the atmosphere is tense. Dana, her sister Harper (Jessica Redmayne) and John (Shane Withington) are there to support Irene ? a poignant moment for Irene who has pushed them all away.

"She feels dreadful in court ? she thinks she's gone for all money, because [policewoman] Rose [Kirsty Marillier] had told her she could get seven years in jail," Lynne says.

"The last time she was in jail she ended up back on the alcohol again."

Things unravel quickly when the prosecutor asks for the maximum sentence of seven years, and the judge appears to show little compassion.

Greta scrambles and declares that Irene would like to make a statement. But with Irene's history and the judge disapproving, will it help or hinder? Speaking from the heart, Irene reaffirms her belief in good and her reasons for hiding Dana. It's a moving speech, but not everyone is convinced.

"Irene is terrified," Lynne says.

The following morning, Irene appears to hear the verdict. With one last glance at her friends, she wipes away tears as the judge delivers his ruling?

Home and Away star Lynne McGranger has confirmed that she is taking a short break from the show to work on an exciting new project.

The actress will be temporarily leaving her role as Irene Roberts in the soap, so that she can take some time to star in original stage comedy show The Grandparents Club.

The star broke the news during an appearance on Australia's The Morning Show today (January 29), during which she reassured fans that Irene won't be away from Summer Bay for too long.

"[I'll be going for] just a little while," she said (via 7 News), adding that she is "not leaving anything permanently".

McGranger, who has played Irene for 21 years, also teased some details about her role in the new theatre production, revealing that The Grandparents Club will be "a way of taking the mickey out of what people perceive grandparents to be".

"Which is, of course, old and doddery," she continued, "but in fact, grandparents can be in their 40s these days, bungee jumping or climbing Everest."

The star added that the show will see her "getting back to my roots, singing and dancing, interacting with the audience".

"I can hold a tune and I can belt-out a number, but I'm no Aretha Franklin," she joked.

McGranger isn't the only Home and Away star who has been working on an additional project away from the soap, as Leah Patterson actress Ada Nicodemou has revealed that she has written her first children's book.

She has described Mia Megastar as "funny", "warm" and "all about the crazy Greek culture".
