I noticed Billy said to Paul: 'They're refurbishing the organ this afternoon. Wanna come with me?'

I'm probably being pedantic here, and it was used as a throwaway line. However, Billy didn't say 'starting on refurbishing the organ this afternoon.'
As someone who spent a few years in another area of church restoration work, organ restoration isn't something that will be undertaken 'in an afternoon'.
At a minimum it will be many days, probably weeks, depending on the scale of the job.

You're forgetting one very important thing - this is Weatherfield.

I suppose when Billy said, 'They're refurbishing the organ this afternoon,' we're lucky Paul didn't say, "Oooh no Matron!'

The way Corrie is going it could well have been a euphemism.

Amazing last night that Sarah and Damon sleep together because he is going away to prison for 15 yrs so it will be a one off sympathy shag. Suddenly in Weatherfield Damon's successful brief and his equally successful assistant discover a paragraph in a letter which will get the case tossed out of court. What a remarkable coincidence for a back street lawyer who just happens to be married to the new Gangsters Moll.

    Who writes this crap?

I remember when we (you and me, alan) used to write these sort of storylines on here for a laugh - now they are taken seriously!
