I think that Kirkie should be concerned about Beth going with Daniel
Windass is still a very nasty piece of work and Baldwin was out of order confiding in him.
One of life/soaps great mysteries - When Daniel dropped the wedding ring it was bright and shiny, after the car ran over it it was dull and discoloured - gold a metal that is resistant to corrosion. - Bent, Yes, discoloured, No - sometimes less is more.
Did they really have to rush Daniel off that night? It was already getting late in the evening and he still had to get packed, sort Bertie out while Beth also had to get packed and make arrangements for her absence and then they had at least a three hour drive up to Scotland, maybe more, depending what part of Scotland this retreat is in. Also, once they got there, Beth had to then look for suitable accommodation for herself and Bertie. Wouldn't early the next day have been better!?

Loved the scenes with Roy and Nina. He has plenty of friends and honorary family members on the street, including Carla of course, but now he's finally found an actual relative who shares his eccentric hobbies. Nina might actually get on better with adults than with other teenagers; indeed after having to look after her father and shoulder a lot of responsibilities she might even find teenagers very superficial. I also like her awkward relationship with Carla who, as a character, needs a younger person to look after to bring out new aspects of her personality. Even if she moves in with Peter eventually I hope they don't forget about this little "family".
