People with physical impairments often manage better in the water as it takes strain off their muscles. It is often used in physiotherapy and as exercise for older people.

Yes, my wife had very bad arthritis in her legs and could hardly walk at times and used a wheelchair, but she loved being in the water. She took a course of hydrotherapy treatment at our local hospital, which she always said made her feel much better and she was able to walk unaided for some time after each session.

You forget the Vicar is a Servant of the Lord.

But seriously the only problem I see, would be getting out of the lake at the end.

She wasn't really helped by any physiotherapists. They were around, but my wife was able to get out of the water on her own after a session because of the therapeutic effects of the water. She also went swimming in our local swimming pool because of the beneficial effect. No physiotherapists there. No vicars either come to that.

But Silly Billy is no mere vicar. He's an archdeacon no less. and he blessed the water before they went in
