That was a mess. There must have been some excuse he could have given - "I'm bringing the ring be be re-sized for a colleague/friend/etc to save save her (or him?) the journey". He could even have told her it was Michelle's ring, given that they work together and Vicky thinks they've split up anyway. Pretty much anything would have been better than that forced proposal.

Also, of course, an amazing coincidence that on that day in particular - after all that time - Michelle should ask Robert to get the ring resized and then that it should fall out of his pocket at Vicky's house. You couldn't make it up.....oh, they did!

Whoever thought that the dreadful Chesney/Gemma storyline could be improved by the introduction of her laughable (but distinctly unfunny) mother is deluded. Whoever wrote the stolen tree storyline for her should be ashamed of themselves - it was beyond pathetic. Whoever came up with the apparently forthcoming storyline about stolen urine and false pregnancy tests should be deported.

I liked Emma and Steve's scenes together - she actually brings out different, calmer aspects of his personality. I really hope they take this storyline seriously and don't turn it into a joke, which it seemed to be on Wednesday, with Steve in his sparkly jacket and (apparently) smelling of urine... It was only in his scenes with Tracy that he seemed to revert to his shouty, face pulling persona.
