Was that just a one off or will it be an ongoing storyline? He seemed to show remorse but as we know he's good at lying.
    Mary did kidnap Norris

I would have been just as furious with him too. It isn't the first time he has lied and yes, I agreed with her yelling at him . I would have done too.

And she doesn't even know that he didn't save Roy's life yet.

I wasn't trying to justify Jude's actions but Mary seems to be a character of extremes, either ridiculously happy and singing in the street or getting emotional and shouting at the top of her voice. It could just be the actress I suppose.
There's no way out for Jude, no matter what he does now. He's a pathetic empty shell who tried to use his son as emotional leverage. As Mary said, how was he planning to cover his tracks this time? Was he just going to wander around the streets until it was time to come home from his "training"?
Why didn't he find something else to train for when he realised he didn't like the sight of blood?

Mary recites her lines and acts like someone rehearsing for an AmDram part.
Sent from my desktop computer using my fingers on the keyboard.

I don't agree. I thought she was excellent and felt her heartbreak.

I thought Mary was good too, although I don't know how Jude can stay in the show after this as any credibility he might have had is now gone. He even persisted in his lie about saving Roy when Angie and Mary confronted him. And trying to steal George was pathetic too, especially as he took nothing with him (nappies, bottles, etc) that he might need. I'm glad Roy went after him although I would have liked to have seen how Roy managed to persuade him to hand over George.
The whole Good Samaritan ceremony felt a bit contrived - why was it held in a restaurant? Are there literally no other buildings in Weatherfield that they could use, or was it just an excuse to keep everything within the usual set? I found myself wishing that hospital volunteer would win instead...

Yes, I hope that they are going to explain how Roy managed to get Jude to hand over George. It seems highly unlikely to me the way Jude was acting.

Also, in the real world, the hospital volunteer would have won hands down for an award like that. Continuous service would win out over a one-off.

And also agreed, Speed Daal seems a high unlikely place for an award like that. It's like Sally being elected mayor on the strength of votes from people who live in Coronation Street. How big is Weatherfield that everything centres around that street!?
