Yasmeen was a bit weaker after her first husband had an affair. Perhaps husbands / partners are her weakness? She'd probably be better off without them.

You are probably right about her being better off on her own. I cannot remember how they got together, or how Geoff wooed her. I was surprised that they did, as I never really saw them as being suitable for each other.

Audrey liked Geoff at the beginning but he wanted Yasmeen

I think Sharif was the only person Yasmeen was ever with before Geoff and he hurt her with his cheating

Whilst the acting and scripting of the interplay between Geoff and Yasmeen is excellent, I find the attitude of her so called friends very unrealistic and therefore too convenient for the storyline. Before Geoff arrived on the scene, Yasmeen was a pillar of the community, seemingly liked and admired by everyone, but suddenly they're believing the word of someone they've known for a relatively short time over their longstanding friend - despite the lack of any evidence whatsoever to back up his story.

The trouble is that Alya has never been keen on Geoff even before this started in earnest, so she won't be seen as unbiased, and Geoff will use the point of her 'losing her inheritance' against her. That time where he forced her to drink the entire glass of wine was particularly nasty, though not as bad as the way he went on after the magic show.

He actually made her drink the whole bottle of wine, not just a glass ...
