But the whole concept is ridiculous anyway, considering it's been done before with Ali and Ryan anyway, and it's arrived in the middle of Tyrone's storyline about being abandoned/adopted. To be honest, it's one of the worst storylines they've done, and that's saying something.
The only possibility I can come up with is that it's a scam, and if Jim is in on it, I hope Liz and Steve kick him out of their lives for good and that he never returns to Weatherfield because it's the worst thing he could do to them. And if it's just Katie/Hannah, I hope she gets punished properly and not just forgiven by everyone involved. There's no way the writers can rescue this storyline - it's going to take a huge suspension of belief no matter what happens.
If ever proof was needed that five episodes a week are too many the Katie/Hannah story is proof. As said above the hospital baby mix up has already been done with Ali and Ryan, not only are they recycling story lines but they are copying other soaps with the Emmerdale Charity Dingle baby Ryan story and on Eastenders Ronnie Mitchell dead badly swap. It's becoming how many 'variations on a theme' can be thought off. All soaps would be better off if they reverted to two or at the most three episodes a week, where there would not be the need to continually find new stories and where proper research and writing could take place.
I am beginning to feel I was lucky to leave hospital after my birth with my real parents, or did I?

Lets be honest CS did not need to do this storyline with Liz, Jim and Katie and although they are not jumping the shark, it is crass.

On a positive note that part had Maureen Lipman written all over it. Quality.

I don't know why they brought Jim back in the first place. I never liked him as a character and it seems like he hasn't changed - he's still the same old stereotype he always was, even after living in Britain for decades. If he's out of prison, fine, just have Liz and Steve talk about it for a scene or two, then move on.
And that scene at the end of the first episode - YUCK. Even if they're not related, seriously, Jim McDonald has managed to land a younger girlfriend?! I bet she's using him for a scheme of her own.

On a more positive note, I thought Liz talking about all the things she could have done with Katie was very moving. I think she accepted Jim's story because she desperately wants to believe that Katie is still alive, and perhaps always has done, deep down. She's had to watch other characters with their daughters over the years (her friend Deirdre with Tracy for example) and it must have been hard for her, especially when they fell out.

It seems the Phil Mitchell/Max Branning syndrome strikes at Coronation Street.

This is very cruel by Jim and fake Katie, Hannah who looks very like Kate Connor

Steve and Tracy discovered that Hannah changed her name but Jim's "lawyer" said that babies Katherine MacDonald and Hannah Moreside were born on the same day at the same hospital and Liz and Steve believe it all, I think Tracy will discover the truth and want a cut of the cash

I like Tyrone's nan but her arrival is soon, he just discovered her

Do not like the forced comedy just making characters look stupid like Mary. Jim storyline a step too far and insensitive. But i like Evelyn although its ridiculous how quick Tyrone found his real family.

Imagine if Evelyn and Blanche had ever met, that would be a tag team and a half.
