They seem to be spoiling Paul's storyline by him becoming a criminal. He should be looking into ways he can get help with disability equipment. Grants or Schemes through the NHS for example.

Paul said to DeeDee,"Naill's got me by the short and curlies" To me, that seemed a reasonable phrase.
Earlier, Audrey was talking to Elaine about Stephen, "Gail and the kids call him golden balls."
I've heard the phrase used in dramas before, I always thought it was a reference to male appendages. Having just looked it up, I see it refers to the three gilt balls used as a pawnbroker's sign.
    Oh how ignorant I am.

Brian mentioned to George about the ship 'Lord Sandwich' which was originally Captain's Cook's Endeavour.
It was scuttled by the British in Newport Harbor (in 1778) in an effort to block French ships during the American War of Independence.
Something else I googled out of interest. Sometimes Corro is very educational.

Btw, I see that although the Earl of Sandwich gave his name to the food snack, he didn't invent it. Apparently, "One of the earliest known sandwich-eaters was Hillel the Elder, a rabbi and scholar who was born in Babylon and lived in Jerusalem during the first century B.C"

I think in this case it was reference to the nickname given to David Beckham by his wife Victoria, when. he turned his image around after being sent off in the 1998 World Cup. Google has let you down a bit here.

Definitely referring to male appendages suggesting that they can do no wrong and spoiled rotten as in Stephen's case.

    Thanks.
Perhaps instead of a pawnbroker it should be a pornbroker then.

I doubt that Beckham has ever used a pawnbroker
