First thought should have been, is she a journalist? But I repeat something you have mentioned in the past, DRAMA. It is lazy writing really, rather than think up believable, creditable story lines, soaps continually take the easy way by over using the same old tropes.

Bobby keeps saying he wants the police to find out what happened to Lauren. Yet he keeps doing stupid things to make it more difficult for them to do so. First he did not want to tell them about her OVidz account, now he is making up stories about someone in a balaclava and dragging Carla into his lies.

Watching any of the real life crime documentaries it is clear that the CPS would not bring charges against Roy on the evidence they have. As for his assault on Alice, her own video would surely show he did not assault her.
