Coming up on Emmerdale, Debbie Dingle makes an explosive return to the village after more than a year away.

Debbie (Charley Webb) fled from Emmerdale on New Year's Day 2016 after finding out the truth about how her boyfriend Ross Barton was Robert Sugden's mystery shooter.

One year on, the 'Who Shot Robert?' mystery is the least of Debbie's worries as she's on the run and being followed by some dodgy guys when she makes her return. Cain has even unexpectedly spotted his daughter and the kids on a crime programme before she arrives back.

As she's reunited with Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Charity (Emma Atkins), there's no time for a cosy family catch-up as Debbie confirms that she's in big trouble and needs their help.

Will Cain be able to get Debbie out of her latest drama? With her mysterious enemies demanding money by 5pm, there's a tense race against time to get them off her back once and for all...

Pierce is aggravated when Rhona pulls away from his advances. Later, during a jovial game of truth or dare Pierce is hurt when Rhonda admits her fantasy one-night stand is Cain. Later once home, Pierce makes Rhona feel even more guilty and after a misguided approach Rhona's left unsettled and feels hurt.

Monday

When Gabby offers to look after Dotty, there's an unexpected outcome as Ashley's carer Will calls in sick.

Unbeknown to Laurel, Gabby ends up taking care of both Dotty and Ashley all on her own, with no-one else home. How will Laurel react when she finds out what's happened?

Meanwhile, Chas is disappointed when DS Wise backs down from their plan after listening to Pierce's warnings. Chas quizzes Pierce and is furious when she realises it was Paddy who told Pierce about the plan.

Elsewhere, Robert vows to stand by Aaron when he receives the date for his hearing.

Also today, Rhona feels pressured to stay in with Pierce, while Cain spots Debbie and her kids on a crime programme.


Tuesday

Hour-long episode

Debbie is back, but she's on the run with her kids and has some mystery pursuers chasing her. When Debbie arrives in the village, she tells Cain and Charity that she's in trouble and needs their help. Can Cain get her out of this mess?

Later, Sam is babysitting the kids when two violent men turn up looking for Debbie. They realise they can use Debbie's kids as collateral and it's not long before she receives a text which demands money by 5pm...

Meanwhile, Doug offers to give Laurel a break from looking after Ashley, explaining that he and Diane can take on the responsibility for a while. Will Doug and Diane be shocked when they're given an insight into how bad things have got at home for Laurel?

Elsewhere, Paddy is hurt when he overhears Chas flirting on the telephone.

Also today, Aaron apologises to Finn for beating up Kasim.

Emmerdale airs its next episode on Thursday.


Thursday

Debbie explains herself by revealing why she needed money urgently.

Meanwhile, Doug lies to Laurel by hiding how much he and Diane are already struggling with Ashley. However, it's not long before Laurel uncovers the truth.

Elsewhere, Pierce feels rejected by Rhona again.

Also, Ronnie gives Zak some advice on his relationship with Lisa.


Friday



Cain warns Ross to stay away from Debbie now that she's back.

Wanting to make sure Ross listens, Cain gives him an incentive by threatening him and handing over some money.

Meanwhile, the police suggest that Lachlan could have arranged the theft at Home Farm, but the real culprits remain undetected.

Elsewhere, a fun game of truth or dare between Rhona and Pierce turns sour when she admits that her fantasy one-night stand is Cain. Pierce makes Rhona feel guilty over her revelation, while she's unsettled by his behaviour.

Also, Laurel makes a heartbreaking decision.

Finally, Lisa suggests she and Zak go public with their reunion.

The Dingles need to get some comeuppance, they need to have something drastic happen to them to make them regret the scams they pull and always get away with. One of them needs to end up being killed.
Preferably Debbie, then maybe Cain and Charity will blame themselves.
Or maybe someone innocent like Lisa and they can all blame themselves for the lifestyle that led to it.
