    Corrie Spoilers 2017

CORRIE viewers will be left in shock next year when an explosive arson attack sees character Kevin Webster’s garage devastated by flames.

The building – an iconic Street feature for 20 years – will spark alight after hours and trigger a mass panic amongst Weatherfield residents.

Kevin Webster’s garage has been a key feature of Coronation Street for 20 years
The surrounding houses will all be evacuated amid fears that stacks of petrol inside the garage will explode with devastating consequences.

And sources revealed tonight that the fire will be investigated by police after officers discover CCTV footage is missing.

One source said: “Kate Oates, the executive producer, wants to start the New Year with a real bang, and this fire will certainly achieve that end.

But the garage is set to meet its end next year when it goes up in falmes
“A huge amount of work is going into making this a stunt that is really explosive and hooks fans in.

“The drama will begin when the garage flames are spotted, and mayhem breaks out, with people screaming and buildings being evacuated.

“All of the customers in The Bistro and surrounding houses spill out into the Street as firefighters arrive and battle to control the situation.

“The fear is of course that in a building with so much petrol in it, the potential for tragedy is huge.”

Mass panic will ensue amongst the street’s residents with several building’s also being evacuated
After the blaze, Kevin (Michael Le Vell) will be left with his business in tatters.

And he faces yet another blow when the police reveal they suspect arson.

The source went on: “As the police are investigating the cause of the fire, they find that a laptop containing CCTV footage has been stolen.

“That triggers their suspicion that the fire was a deliberate attempt to ruin Kevin financially.

“The story line that follows their investigation is set to be a very gripping one, and will lead to twists and turns that viewers will not see coming.”

Previous Corrie stunts include the tram crash that killed Ashley Peacock, Molly Dobbs in 2010 and an explosion that saw Anna Windass engulfed in flames this year.

A Corrie spokeswoman said tonight: “We do not comment on storylines.”

That's a relief for the perpetrators then. No chance of them being found out if the Corrie Police (aka the World's worst police force) are investigating.

I also immediately thought of Phelan.

I can't say I'm looking forward to this if the standard of writing plumbs the same depths as in recent Corrie storylines.
