I think Aidan declares his feelings for her and she finds it difficult to cope with as Eva´s friend. There is also the phone call Caz made to the Home Office regarding her bogus marriage to Pablo. Of course, being soapland another unexpected pregnancy can´t be ruled out

Coronation Street's Maria Connor will find herself under suspicion of a sinister crime this Halloween as Caz Hammond disappears in mysterious circumstances.

Maria is already freaked out enough after receiving unwanted attentions from the ever-obsessive Caz, but it's clear that her nightmare is only just beginning when she returns home to the cobbles later this month.

The popular hairdresser has been away in London for the past few days, giving Caz the time and opportunity to hatch her next evil plan. Eek!

Before Maria returns, Caz even lies to Tyrone Dobbs that she's been receiving abusive texts from her - and he foolishly believes every word. Well, Maria does have form for this sort of thing, after all.

When Maria then arrives back from London on Halloween, she's stunned to find her flat a complete mess with furniture on its side, broken glass everywhere and blood splattered on one of the walls. And it's not just for a surprise Halloween party, either.

Adding to the intrigue, Caz's ex-partner Kate Connor later listens back to a frightening voicemail message from her, which claims that Maria has locked her in the bathroom at home and she fears for her life.

With Caz now nowhere to be seen, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that Maria may now find herself accused of doing something terrible to her.

But what's really gone on? Could it be a set-up? Has Caz's revenge plan gone horribly wrong in a 'girl who cried wolf'-style scenario? Or who knows, maybe Maria really has gone crazy again...

Coronation Street kicks off the shock new storyline on Monday, October 31 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.

Monday (1)

Tyrone tells Fiz about the abusive texts Caz has supposedly received from Maria. Fiz is disbelieving and reckons Caz is exaggerating.

At the same time, Caz calls in the factory and tells Kate that she's finally leaving for good. Kate forgives her crazy behaviour and agrees to draw a line under it. But when Caz suggests a farewell drink, Kate refuses point blank. Kate's phone later rings but when she sees the caller is Caz, she quickly kills the call.

Later, Maria arrives home from London and is furious to find her flat a mess, with furniture on its side and broken glass on the carpet. When Aidan and Eva suggest Maria should report Caz to the police, Maria admits that she can't take the risk as she's guilty of an illegal marriage and needs to keep her head down.

As Maria sets to cleaning up the mess in the flat, she's horrified to discover blood splattered up the wall. What has gone on?

Meanwhile, when Sharif finds Dev reading the gym accounts, he quickly whisks them off him and assures him that he'll look after the books. Having printed off another set, Dev shows Zeedan the gym accounts, which show a transfer of £14,000 to Sharif's personal account. Zeedan is shocked. Entering Number 6, Zeedan confronts Sharif and demands to know what's going on.

Elsewhere, wishing Leanne and Nick well with their 20-week scan, Michelle reveals that Steve is hoping she'll have a boy. Will Leanne and Nick decide to find out the sex of her baby at the scan?

Also, the staff at The Rovers prepare the pub for a Halloween party.


Monday (2)

Kirk and Aidan call at Maria's flat and survey the mess.

At the same time, Kate is horrified when she receives a voicemail message from Caz, who's sounding terrified as she tells her that Maria has locked her in the bathroom and she fears for her life. Kate plays the message to Aidan.

Kate then arrives at Maria's flat. Having spotted the blood-stained wall, Kate becomes more convinced than ever that Maria has attacked Caz.

Having been summoned by Kate, the police call at Maria's flat and question her about the events surrounding Caz's disappearance. Will the police find any evidence to explain the strange goings-on and has Maria got any answers?

Meanwhile, clearly upset, Zeedan accuses Sharif of ruining his dad's business. Realising Zeedan has found out about the £14,000, Sharif makes out that it was a temporary loan and the money will be back in the account in a couple of days. Yasmeen is left wondering why he needed the money.

Zeedan pours his heart out to Rana, telling her how much he misses his parents. But when he stuns her with a shock proposal, how will Rana respond?

Elsewhere, in the shop, Erica complains to Dev about the awful new uniform he expects her to wear. She's taken aback when Dev asks her to move in with him. Will Erica take Dev up on his offer?

Also, the Rovers Halloween party takes place with staff and regulars dressed up.

Finally, when Simon overhears Peter telling Tracy that he regrets not being a better son to Ken and intends to be the best dad he can for Simon, Simon launches himself at Peter and hugs him close.


Wednesday

In an attempt to save face, Zeedan tries to retract his proposal, but Rana surprises him by telling him that she would love to get married. Zeedan is thrilled. Zeedan and Rana then share their happy news with the family and a thrilled Yasmeen suggests they should throw an engagement party.

Aside, Sharif makes it clear to Sonia that she's not welcome, so when Alya makes a bitchy remark, a hurt Sonia reveals that her affair with Sharif has been going on for 7 years. Alya is devastated, as she originally believed it was only one night.

Later, Sharif suggests to Sonia that it's time to end their fling, but unbeknown to them, a shocked Yasmeen overhears. Devastated, what will Yasmeen do next?

Meanwhile, as Maria arrives for work, she's shocked to see the police searching her flat. Aidan berates Kate for involving the authorities but Kate is defensive, convinced something has happened to Caz.

Later, Fiz confides in Kate about how Caz told Tyrone that Maria was bombarding her with abusive texts. At Kate's insistence, Fiz passes the information onto the police. With the evidence mounting, officers question Maria about her marriage to Pablo. Is it only a matter of time before her calm facade slips?

Elsewhere, Gemma admits to Alex that she's secretly sleeping in the kebab shop as she daren't return to the estate as she fears for her life. How will Alex respond?

Gemma Winter tells Alex Warner that she's been sleeping in the kebab shop in Coronation Street.

Also today, in the factory, Johnny announces that they've received an order for 30 basques. Alya is delighted that her business venture is finally off the ground.

Finally, Michael confides in Andy that he'd like to renew his vows with Gail.


Friday (1)

As Sharif helps Sonia with her move to the corner shop flat, Yasmeen confides in an astounded Alya that in part she blames herself for failing to be an attentive wife. Later, Yasmeen masks her anger by telling Sonia to come to the party as she'd really appreciate her company.

With their engagement celebration under way, Zeedan introduces Sharif and Yasmeen to Rana's parents, but tensions mount as Rana's mother looks disapprovingly at her daughter's outfit and Sharif is unnerved to see Sonia in attendance.

As Sharif presents Rana with Jamila's necklace and Zeedan makes a heartfelt speech, Yasmeen is no longer able to contain her anger and announces that Sharif has been having an affair for years. The guests reel in shock.

Meanwhile, the police quiz Tyrone about the abusive texts that Maria sent to Caz. Tyrone sticks up for Maria, pointing out that Caz may not be telling the truth.

At the same time, Maria calls Pablo and warns him to be careful what he tells the police. Aidan assures Maria that he believes she's innocent and will help her in any way he can, but Fiz is speechless when she shows Tyrone a blood stained rug which she found in their bin. Clearly shaken, will Fiz and Tyrone go to the police?

Elsewhere, when Cathy suggests a church wedding, Roy isn't keen and they settle on a civil service, but is this what Cathy really wants? Later, Roy asks Alex to be his best man. Alex is thrilled and announces he'll be bringing a girl along.

Also, Michael reveals to Sarah his plans to renew his vows. Sarah assures him that Gail will be touched at such a romantic gesture. Sarah and Bethany offer to help organise a bonfire party for the kids, but how will Sarah react when Bethany invites Gary?

Finally, as Anna regains consciousness, how will she react on seeing the extent of her injuries?


Friday (2)

Having ushered everyone out, Yasmeen turns on Sharif and Sonia, demanding to know how long they've been seeing each other. When Sharif reveals that it's 7 years, Yasmeen is devastated and orders Sonia to leave.

Alya and Zeedan return home to their warring grandparents. Guilt-ridden, Alya reveals that she's known about the affair for over a month and that she blackmailed Sharif to invest in her new business venture. How will Yasmeen and Zeedan react to this fresh blow?

Meanwhile, when the police reveal that a mobile phone was purchased with a credit card in Maria's name and the abusive messages were sent from that phone, Maria is horrified. Cash withdrawals were also made in London using the credit card and it dawns on Maria that Caz must have followed her down there.

Maria confides in Aidan how the police seem to think she's killed Caz and Aidan hugs her close. What has happened to Caz?

Elsewhere, Roy and Cathy return home just as Gemma emerges from the shower but Alex covers. A love-struck Alex tells Roy and Cathy that he'd like to invite Gemma to their wedding along with Nessa. After a change of heart, Roy tells Cathy he'd be more than happy to have a church wedding, but is it too little too late?

Also, telling Gail how much he loves her, Michael reveals his plans for them to renew their vows. At the bonfire party, Gary assures David that he knows the crash was an accident and doesn't blame him for Anna's injuries, but David is still consumed with guilt. As Gary makes to leave, Sarah has something she wants to tell him, but what?

Finally, not wishing to be a burden, Anna tells Kevin she doesn't love him any more and they're finished, but is this what she really wants?
