Hollyoaks is welcoming in a brand new Osborne family member - but we have a feeling that not everyone in the village will be pleased to see her.

Here's your first look at former Casualty actress Kerry Bennett in the role of Eva, the deadly detective niece of village stalwart Jack Osborne.

Yes, we did say 'deadly' - and that's important as she's coming to the village to get revenge on one resident in particular. Yikes.

It sounds like Eva has quite the backstory, too. She spent a lonely childhood drifting in and out of care homes and never truly belonging, as she didn't know her father and lost her mother at a very young age. Then as Eva grew up, she slowly morphed into an angry tearaway.

Things improved when Eva met her saving grace - a young policewoman, who took Eva under her wing and led her into a career with the police force.

Once Eva had her stable career in place, her next big mission was to reunite with her father. Now she's crossed that off her list, it's time for her to find the person who kept them apart all those years...

Speaking about joining Hollyoaks, Kerry commented: "I'm so excited to be part of Hollyoaks and get the chance to work with such a great team of people.

"I am having so much fun working with a particular family at Hollyoaks who Eva is out to get - but you will have to wait and see who that is!"

Kerry, who previously played Jess Cranham in Casualty, will make her Hollyoaks debut next month.

We're used to soap characters doing the occasional disappearing act, but have you ever known an entire family to vanish without a trace?

That's exactly what Hollyoaks have lined up in a future storyline as the whole Osborne family go AWOL in mysterious circumstances.

Executive producer Bryan Kirkwood dropped the juicy hint at a press event for the show yesterday (August 18), suggesting that the arrival of newcomer Eva Falco could spark major trouble.

Eva is the niece of show stalwart Jack Osborne and she's arriving with an axe to grind, hoping to find the person who's to blame for keeping her apart from her father all her life.

Bryan teased: "The mystery surrounding Jack Osborne's past steps up when femme fatale Eva Falco, played by Kerry Bennett, arrives - just before the Osborne family disappear into thin air."

And it seems that producers have been planning this storyline for a long while. First of all there were countless hints that Jack is hiding a huge secret about his past.

Then Kim Butterfield disappeared on her own wedding day, having stumbled across an intruder in the Osborne house.

Could it all be connected? Where will the Osbornes go? Surely Nancy and Darren won't be gone for good? Watch out for more gossip as we have it!

Hollyoaks will kick off one of its most baffling storylines ever next week when the entire Osborne family disappears without a trace.

The intriguing plot was first teased by the show's producer Bryan Kirkwood back in the summer and, as you may have guessed, is linked to Jack's vengeful niece Eva Falco.

And it's all part of an elaborate revenge plan to punish Jack for the fractured relationship she had with her father Billy, who has now died.

As the day of Billy's funeral arrives, Eva's love interest Liam can't get her order to kill Jack out of his head and becomes increasingly distressed.

However, Eva's anger grows when she when she sees Jack laying a wreath in the river for Billy and swears to kill him herself if Liam won't help her that day.

Following through with her word, Eva heads to the Osborne's armed with a gun where she fully intends to go through with her plan to kill Jack and his loved ones. But when Cindy later heads over to the Osborne's houe, she finds the place is deserted like the Marie Celeste.

Did the Osbornes escape? Or are they all victims of Eva's revenge? One thing is for sure, this is a mystery that is going to keep us hooked for the coming weeks...

Hollyoaks may have killed off Eva Falco, but she'll still be at the centre of a big storyline twist next week.
Eva was brutally murdered by Grace Black earlier this month, but fans have been left hanging over a big secret that she was keeping before she died.
When Eva and her boyfriend Liam Donovan (Maxim Baldry) were fleeing on a train together, she teased him by mentioning "something else I haven't told you".
Eva didn't get her chance to reveal any more thanks to Grace's ruthless act, leaving fans to speculate over whether she could have been pregnant with Liam's baby when she died.
The good news is that all of your questions will be answered next week as viewers - and Liam - finally discover what Eva was hiding.
