Exclamation Goldie McQueen - Chelsee Healey

Waterloo Road veteran Chelsee Healey has a new soap role lined up in Hollyoaks.

The 27-year-old Manchester native has not yet revealed who she'll be playing in the soap, but has seemingly confirmed her casting by retweeting supportive fan messages.

Hollyoaks will mark Healey's return to acting, having ended her 11-month stint as bubbly barista Honey Wright in Casualty last September.

Healey is perhaps best known for playing Janeece Bryant for six years, ending in 2012.

The actress has had success in the reality TV arena as well, finishing as runner-up to McFly's Harry Judd in Strictly Come Dancing.

Earlier this week, Warren Fox's dark secret was revealed on Hollyoaks... and it's heartbreaking.

We've known for a while that Chelsee Healey is joining Hollyoaks – but now it's been confirmed that she'll be playing Goldie McQueen.

Rumours that the former Waterloo Road and Casualty actress was working on the Channel 4 soap were first sparked earlier this month when she was seen rehearsing her lines on set.

And it's now been revealed that Chelsee is part of the ever-extending McQueen family, and will arrive in the village alongside her 15-year old twin sons – Prince and Hunter.

Goldie will turn up in the village this autumn in search of her 'posh' and distant relatives Myra, Mercedes and John Paul, who are less than thrilled by her arrival.

"Tough, gobby and absolutely shameless, Goldie will never back down in a fight and she's always game for a good old-fashioned McQueen scam to make some fast cash," a Hollyoaks spokesperson said.

"Goldie's come to Hollyoaks in the hope of mooching off the family she's scarcely had anything to do with. But one thing she cares more about than making easy money is her twins, Prince and Hunter, who she had in her teens.

"She'd go to the ends of the earth for her lads and will defend them like a lioness."

Chelsee said: "I am absolutely thrilled to join Hollyoaks. I've grown up watching it so to be in it is unbelievable. It was an irresistible opportunity, especially to play this character.

"I can't believe I am playing a mum, but the boys are so fantastic to work with and we are all delighted by our new family unit.

"Less delighted are the current McQueens who are most put out by our arrival! I'm most excited by her wardrobe, which is a bit like mine in my younger days!"

Malique Thompson-Dwyer has been cast in the role of "cocky and swaggering" Prince, who has "confidence in spades and more front than Blackpool".

Prince has a rebellious and adventurous spirit which makes him live in the moment, but he's got problems with listening to authority – a trait that seems to run in the McQueen family!

And Theo Graham will play the more sensitive twin, Hunter – who's creative and free spirited.

Hunter fancies himself as a graffiti artist and tries his best to stay out of any serious trouble – but that's more easier said than done with a brother like Prince.

Is Waterloo Road's Chelsee Healey too young to be playing Hollyoaks' newest McQueen family member Goldie?

Some fans certainly rushed to say so when it was revealed that 28-year-old Chelsee would be playing the mother of 15-year-old twins - but now she's had her say in a red carpet chat with Digital Spy.

Speaking to us at the 2016 Inside Soap Awards, Chelsee laughed: "Do you know what? I'm 28 and in the show I'm 28/29. So I'm living up to that age. She had them when she was 13 and that's possible.

"But they do look older than me and I'm looking up to them when I'm filming, which is hilarious! But it is what it is."

You can hit play above to see Chelsee spill all the gossip on Goldie's arrival, revealing how the McQueens react to her.

She also explains whether Goldie is a good mum or not - and what Hollyoaks fans can expect from the gobby character. (Fireworks, of course!)

Our video also sees Cleo McQueen star Nadine Mulkerrin react to the big news of Chelsee's casting. Did you know that they've actually worked together before Hollyoaks?

Show bosses announced Chelsee's casting in July, confirming that Goldie will be turning up alongside her twin sons Prince and Hunter.

"Tough, gobby and absolutely shameless, Goldie will never back down in a fight and she's always game for a good old-fashioned McQueen scam to make some fast cash," a Hollyoaks spokesperson said at the time.

Good news, Hollyoaks fans – Goldie McQueen will be on our screens for at least a year.

Former Waterloo Road and Casualty star Chelsee Healey has revealed that she has signed a one-year contract with the soap, which will take her through until the end of 2017 at the very least.

"I'm having so much fun at the minute I don't want it to end," Chelsee said to Closer.

"I have got a year's contract so there's definitely more time for me to spend at Hollyoaks, which is amazing. I love the long-haul jobs and I'm lucky in that the jobs I've done feel like working with a big family."

"Everyone has been so lovely and welcoming which has helped a lot. I've been there two months now and I've done a lot of filming with Jennifer Metcalfe (Mercedes) and Nadine Mulkerrin (Cleo). I can definitely see us all becoming friends, and we're all a similar age."

Viewers can expect to see fireworks when Goldie turns up uninvited at the McQueen's home next week as she is hardly the shy and retiring type. Did we really expect anything less?

"She definitely likes men – she manipulates them to her advantage and gets what she wants from them," Chelsee recently said.

"Goldie also gets off on the wrong foot with Celine because she makes a move on Jesse, and that doesn't go down well at all obviously."

Chelsee Healey has spoken out about her plans for a future on Hollyoaks following last week's revelation that she's expecting a baby with her on/off partner Jack Malloy.

The show has already revealed that they knew about Chelsee's pregnancy enough in advance to plan upcoming storylines to allow her some time off to have the baby, and now Chelsee is confirming that time off definitely means just that, and she'll be back on our screens in no time.

"I'm definitely coming back to Hollyoaks," Chelsee told Sunday People. "One of the first things I said after breaking the baby news was, 'I hope I've still got a job'."

Chelsee recently joined the Channel 4 soap as the trouble-making mother of twins Goldie McQueen, and she even added that the soap has a nursery for actors to use during filming on set, which will make her return to Hollyoaks after having her baby all the smoother.

There's no news yet about when exactly Goldie will be bowing out from the show temporarily, but we do know that her onscreen sons Hunter and Prince McQueen will be sticking around to cause all sorts of mischief while their mum's away.

Chelsee revealed she was expecting a baby with long-term boyfriend Jack Molloy earlier this week with a source saying Chelsee hopes the baby can help strengthen the couple's rocky relationship.

And speaking to The Mirror at Wednesday night's National Television Awards, Chelsee said that Jack has "been amazing" since they found out the news.

"He's been looking at all the baby websites," she said. "He's my best friend and I wouldn't want to be *going through this with anybody but him."

Onscreen, Chelsee's love life may not be getting on quite as well, with Goldie's jailbird ex, and the twins' dad, Shane making an appearance in the village and looking ready to stir up trouble.

Having taken the rap for her son Prince’s robbery crimes, Goldie could end up with a long prison stretch and so becomes tempted by Shane’s suggestion that they go on the run together. With Jesse Donovan helping Goldie out with some funds for her trip, it’s all go and Goldie says her goodbyes

Hollyoaks star Chelsee Healey has been taking some time off the soap recently, but we now know when we can expect her to return to filming as Goldie McQueen.

The actress, who's currently on maternity leave following the birth of her daughter Coco back in July, has announced that she will be back at work very soon.

"I am coming back to Hollyoaks," she told Mirror TV. "I'm coming back for two episodes the end of this month, and then full-time in January, so they're easing me back in."

Chelsee added: "I keep messaging my agent to find out scripts, but I'm hoping Goldie can come back with dark hair, because I can't be arsed with that red f**king wig.

"I keep saying to Bryan [Kirkwood], because she's been on the run she needs a bit of a change."

Earlier this year, Chelsee reassured fans that she'd be back on the Channel 4 soap, saying: "I'm definitely coming back to Hollyoaks. One of the first things I said after breaking the baby news was, 'I hope I've still got a job'."

Of course, since the summer the star has been pretty occupied with her new daughter – though fortunately she has had hardly any sleepless nights since she was born.

"She's been amazing, really good, sleeps right through," Chelsee explained. "She's slept really good since she was born. I'm really lucky.

"She's really coming into her own now, which is amazing. I don't want her to grow up.

"I want her to stay as a baby but she's honestly unbelievable. I never imagined the feeling she'd give me. She's made me very content."
