I'm worried about Todd and Billy's future now that Kate Oates has taken over. Kate Oates went overboard with Robert on Emmerdale, turned him into a caricature, a psychopath. I'm fine with soap characters being manipulative, hell.. it's one of the many reasons I love Todd. I'm just afraid she will turn him into another "baddie", like she did with Robert. Again, I know Todd has always been a soap villain, but he has never been as awful as Robert. Now that Kate has taken over I'm afraid she might undo ALL of Todd's character development lately. He has seemingly been redeemed, with him not going after Billy because he cares about Sean etc. I just don't want to see him reverting back to his old self, being a bit manipulative is something I can deal with, but please for the love of god, save his friendship with Tracey, save his relationship with Billy. Do NOT make him into a complete psychopath like Robert on Emmerdale. If she has to make him a "baddie", let it be him taking down Phelan or something. The close relationships Todd have with Sarah, Billy and Tracey are making him more human, it's showing a softer side of Todd, that he might not be perfect but deep down he is a good guy who cares about his friends and family. I'll be so mad if Kate ruins that.

Then there's the amount of snogging etc that she is used to from Emmerdale. Emmerdale is the most conservative soap. I'm afraid she will not be used to Corrie's raunchiness and turn Corrie into Emmerdale, with very tame and lame snogging and "sex scenes". Todd and Billy's snogging is some of the best gay snogging I've ever seen on a British soap, well.. at least those before watershed (Hollyoaks is a different matter). I'm afraid she will neuter the gays. Robert and Aaron on Emmerdale were always very very tame, I'm just not sure if it was because of Kate Oates, or the soap being conservative in general, or both. Guess we'll see with "Billy and Todd having a close call". I'm assuming they are snogging or having sex (probably not the latter since Billy said he wanted to wait). If the kissing has been reduced to lame pecks like the ones in the Robron relationship then I'll know it's Kate Oates doing.

Monday (1)

When Leanne suffers stomach pains as she chats to Michelle in the street, Simon is concerned that it's the baby.

Realising Leanne is pregnant, Michelle gets Tim to drive them to hospital. Leanne is anxious as she waits at the hospital with Michelle by her side.

Meanhile, ignoring Rita's words of warning, Jenny decides to give Johnny another chance but is gutted when Johnny tells her they made the right decision by calling it a day. Johnny explains to Jenny that he needs to focus on Kate for now, rather than a relationship. Jenny bitterly accuses him of using her for sex then casting her aside.

Elsewhere, as Caz shows no sign of moving out of the salon flat, Maria is annoyed by Luke's lack of compassion and refuses to turf her out. When Luke admits that Caz is secretly staying with him and Maria, shocked Sophie insists Kate must be told. Luke begs her not to betray his confidence.

Later, Kate is stunned to see Caz at the gym, believing she was long gone. Caz is bereft when Kate harshly spells out that she never wants to see her again. Caz cries on Maria's shoulder about how she has nowhere else to go. Will Maria fall for it?

Also, Audrey and Maria are startled when David returns to the salon and insists on taking all his scheduled appointments. David's faux cheeriness as he works unnerves Audrey. But as he sweeps the contents of Kylie's nail bar into a bin liner, it's clear he's struggling.


Monday (2)

As Leanne waits nervously for her scan, Michelle quizzes Leanne over her pregnancy. Leanne tells her that it was a one-night stand. Having had her scan, a relieved Leanne tells Michelle that the baby is fine. Michelle hugs her as Leanne thanks her for being so supportive.

Later, Michelle confides in Steve about Leanne's pregnancy. Telling Steve how much she loves him, Michelle suggests they should have a baby of their own. How will Steve respond?

Meanwhile, when Matthew Singh arrives in the factory for a meeting, he finds Jenny alone at her machine. Jenny explains there's been a mix up and Johnny and Aidan should return shortly. Matthew suggests he'll buy her a drink in the meantime.

When Johnny and Aidan find Matthew enjoying a drink with Jenny in the Bistro, Johnny feels a pang of jealousy. Johnny apologises to Jenny and admits he regrets the way he's treated her. Jenny lays down the law and tells him if they're to have any chance together, he needs to show her some respect.

Elsewhere, Kate marches into the salon and tears a strip off Maria for allowing Caz to move in. Maria rounds on Luke for discussing Caz's business with Sophie. Luke is unrepentant, pointing out that Kate was bound to find out anyway.

Also, Audrey and Maria continue to fret over David, worried that he's concealing his anger over Kylie.


Wednesday

Michelle puts pressure on Steve, insisting that a baby of their own would be the best thing ever, but Steve remains unconvinced. Steve confides in Dev about how Michelle has become fixated on having a baby. Dev reckons that if he loves her as much as he says he does, he should be prepared to make that commitment.

Steve arrives home and announces to Michelle that after a long hard think, he reckons a baby would be the best thing for them.

Meanwhile, having taken Jenny's words on board, Johnny tells her that he'd like them to start again and he has booked them into a posh hotel for the night. Hungover Beth then arrives late for work and Kirk assures her that he clocked her in when nobody was looking. Jenny takes Johnny to one side and gives him the heads-up on Beth and Kirk's ruse. Johnny confronts Beth and Kirk and tells them if they pull the same stunt again, they'll be fired.

Jenny suggests to Johnny they should keep their relationship under wraps for the time being, as she can be his eyes and ears on the factory floor. Johnny is amused and also announces that Alya will be moving her desk back into the office.

Elsewhere, when Todd receives a text from Billy, his face lights up. Eileen is immediately suspicious, wondering if he's got a new man in his life. Todd and Billy secretly arrange a day out to Formby, but agree that they need to work out how to break the news of their relationship to Sean.

Also today, Billy calls at Number 8 to discuss Kylie's funeral arrangements. When David hands over a list of requirements, Billy is taken aback by his apparent calm. Later, the police also call at Number 8 with Kylie's belongings and David is deeply moved to see a blood-stained jacket.

Finally, Eva arrives home from France and is shocked when Leanne tells her that she's pregnant.


Friday (1)
An apologetic Billy tells Todd that they'll have to cancel their trip to Formby, as he's been left to run the community centre playgroup. As Billy surveys Aadi, Simon and Amy causing mayhem, he realises it's going to be a long day. He's delighted when Todd arrives offering to help out.

As Billy and Todd emerge from the community centre, Eileen wants to know what they've been doing. Painting on his best innocent face, Todd explains he was just helping the vicar with playgroup. Eileen is suspicious.

Later, Billy suggests to Todd they have a night on the town. As Billy and Todd wait in Tyrone's cab, they discuss their relationship and how much easier things will be when they go public. Unbeknown to them, a furious Eileen listens to every word over the cab radio.

Meanwhile, having been discharged from hospital for the day, Sarah returns home with Harry. As the Platts clear out Kylie's clothes, they're taken aback when David tells them he has already chosen Kylie's last outfit for the funeral. Aware he's struggling, Sarah suggests to David that he should keep Kylie's jewellery for Lily. David snaps at her to mind her own business and Sarah is increasingly worried about him.

When Gemma approaches David wanting to know the funeral arrangements, David flies into a rage. Accusing Gemma of playing an integral part in Kylie's death, he bans her from the funeral. Gemma is upset, while Sarah worries for David's sanity.

Elsewhere, Michelle confides in Liz about how she and Steve have decided to try for a baby.

Also, as Zeedan enters the café, he clocks a guy chatting to Rana. Rana gives the guy short shrift, but assuming her to be flirting, Zeedan leaves in a strop. Yasmeen advises Zeedan to sort out his differences with Rana as it's clear they still have feelings for each other.


Friday (2)

Eileen angrily drags Todd and Billy out of Tyrone's taxi. The boys are horrified to realise she heard their conversation over the radio. Eileen rails at Todd, accusing him of destroying other people's relationships for the sake of it. Telling her how sorry he is, Todd heads off to find Billy.

Later, Sean arrives home from London bearing gifts for Eileen and Todd. Eileen feels terrible, knowing how hurt he'll be when he finds out about Todd and Billy. Todd confides in Eileen that he's never felt this way before and he reckons Billy is the one. Eileen softens, but insists he must tell Sean the truth and soon.

Meanwhile, Gail and Sarah put pressure on David to let Gemma attend the funeral, as she was Kylie's oldest friend. David lets Max choose the music, food and drink. Gail is horrified, pointing out that a funeral is meant to be a dignified affair. When Max announces he'd like to give the eulogy at Kylie's funeral, David hugs him and tries to conceal his tears.

Realising how much David is suffering, Sarah announces that she's not returning to hospital as it's clear her family needs her. Gail and Bethany try to persuade Sarah that she needs to complete her treatment, but Sarah is adamant she's staying put. David gives her a grateful smile. Sarah also asks Bethany how her exams went and how she is getting on at school, but Bethany is quick to change the subject.

Calling in the kebab shop David tells Gemma he's changed his mind - she can come to the funeral. He then confides in Sarah that he's going to make sure someone pays for Kylie's death...

Elsewhere, waving some ferry tickets at Steve, Michelle announces that she has booked them a few days in Ireland with her parents so they can start baby planning.

Also, Rana calls at Number 6 and apologises to Zeedan for failing to respect his beliefs when they're actually to be admired. Zeedan softens and Rana begs him to give her another chance. Will Zeedan agree?
