No Paul is innocent. Poor Terese, at least she admitted what she did.

I agree Vikki, Paul is innocent, so who did set fire to Lassiters?

Or possibly her brat of a son Archie? I definitely wouldn't be surprised if Julie took advantage of the explosion to set up Paul, even if it wasn't her that caused it. She hates him enough.

    Monday

Everyone gets a shock when Paul goes back on his word about pleading guilty at his trial. When Paul sees Terese looking at him, he simply can't say that he killed her son, so he pleads not guilty and the court is thrown into disarray. The judge refuses an adjournment, the jury are called in and Paul has to convince Toadie to take on the case despite breaking their agreement.

Afterwards, a concerned Lauren begs Brad to do the right thing and talk Terese out of sending Cecilia to the stand with false testimony. Brad feels it's too late to stop it without risking Terese getting into trouble - and since Paul is guilty, what's the benefit in creating more of a mess? Lauren is not convinced. She later takes an opportunity to try and convince Terese herself, but to no avail.

Later, Terese uses a hipflask to ease her nerves ahead of giving evidence, but it proves to be a fatal mistake. When she gets on the stand, Toadie is observant and asks her if she's had a drink today. She admits she has, which goes down badly in court.

Cecilia also gives her false evidence, which makes Paul furious. When Paul testifies, he assures Terese that he loves her and claims that Cecilia's lies on the stand are an insult to the memory of Josh and Doug. Terese rushes from the courtroom, rattled. She begs Cecilia to withdraw her testimony, but she refuses.

Cecilia also reminds Terese of the repercussions - if she reveals the plan to the authorities, they'll both go to prison. Terese is left with a choice - stick with the lie, or tell the truth and risk her own freedom.

    Tuesday

Terese gets on the stand and explains that she paid Cecilia to lie. Paul is devastated, but the case seems to be turning his way at last - until the judge refuses to call a mistrial.

Later, the jury returns a shock "guilty" verdict and it seems that Paul is facing a long spell in jail. With a heavy heart, Amy explains to Jimmy that his grandfather is facing a minimum of 14 years behind bars. When Steph visits Paul, eager to discuss appealing his conviction, he surprises her by rejecting the idea. He appears to have given up on life.

After some urging from Jimmy, Amy agrees to take him to see Paul. However, Paul remains embarrassed and beaten, discouraging her from ever visiting him again. When she breaks the news to Jimmy, he sees it as another case of rejection, just like he suffered at the hands of his dad and Kyle.

Meanwhile, Terese is shocked when Mark arrives to arrest her for perverting the course of justice. Later, Piper comes home to discover her mother has passed out and fears this could have dire consequences.

Elsewhere, Lauren feels self conscious when Ned arrives home unexpectedly. He challenges her about avoiding him, and she suggests the only way around it is for both of them to forget the kiss ever happened.

    Wednesday

Piper raises the alarm about Terese, so Lauren and Karl come to her assistance. After examining Terese, Karl deems that she'll be fine once she has slept off the booze. Now that she knows her mother is okay, Piper is angry and embarrassed about her drinking. To help her out, Lauren tells Piper to go and be with her friends and she'll stay and keep an eye on Terese.

Later, Terese decides to go to a health retreat for a few days to get herself together, but Piper admits to Tyler that she still feels overwhelmed about having to deal with Terese on her own. Tyler reminds Piper that she has an excellent support network, including him. In fact, if she needs company while Terese is away, he'll be there. But when Tyler does come over, what plans to be a casual fun evening takes an intense romantic turn.

Meanwhile, Ben is becoming increasingly frustrated that there seems to be one set of rules for him and no rules at all for Angus. Susan is also frustrated that Sarah continues to hide the truth about her cancer from Angus. If Angus were told, then Ben could be told and everyone could be more understanding.

Karl reveals that although Sarah is too sick to call Angus, she is considering writing him an email and telling him everything. Not long after this, Angus receives an email from Sarah and instantly goes off the rails. Not wanting to punish Angus, Susan takes matters into her own hands. But what will happen when Ben discovers that Angus has been let off the hook yet again?

Elsewhere, when Xanthe discovers Naomi's old designer clothes in the back of a cupboard, she gets the brilliant idea to sell them online and use the money to pay back Tom Quill. This spawns a raid of wardrobes across the street and everyone is happy to donate to the cause. The only problem is, Xanthe has told everyone that the cause is a charity for needy kids. Will Xanthe get away with her lie?

    Thursday

Ben is astounded when Angus escapes punishment for vandalising the school. Unaware of Sarah's cancer, Ben assumes that Susan was lenient because she has mellowed out. He considers coming clean about Tom Quill's money in the hope Susan can lend him and Xanthe the ten thousand dollars they need to pay him back. However, Ben only gets as far as confessing that the fundraiser isn't actually for charity before Susan hits the roof. She's appalled and accuses Ben of stealing from the street.

Hurt by her reaction, Ben picks a fight with Angus and the pair come to blows. Ben reveals his frustration at the double standards to Karl and Susan - they're nice to Angus but mean to him. During a private moment, Susan quietly suggests to Karl they tell Ben the truth, but when Karl asserts they have to keep the cancer a secret, Ben pops out from hiding, demanding to know what they're talking about.

Karl and Susan tell Ben the truth about why Angus is here, including the fact that he doesn't know his mum has cancer. Ben feels sorry for Angus and promises to be nice to him. However, his sudden change in attitude has Angus suspicious. Is it only a matter of time before he finds out the truth?

    Friday

John admits to Paige and Amy that he's seen something that triggered a memory. It was the woman from earlier and a van with a logo that was strongly familiar. Paige does an online image search and successfully identifies the logo as belonging to an engineering company. John is grateful for her help and approaches the company, but is disappointed that he is not recognised by a long-term employee. John is rattled when the employee lists boilers as one of their service areas and quickly shuts down the conversation.

Later, John is further shaken by a disturbing flashback of the damaged Lassiters boiler, on the verge of exploding. He is now truly starting to believe he could be responsible for the explosion.

Meanwhile, Walter babysits Nell when Sonya has nobody else. Sheila and Susan later pop in to check on Nell, and are pleasantly surprised to find Walter rocking the role of grandpa. They join in the fun and send Sonya a selfie of the shenanigans. Sonya returns late, pleasantly surprised to find that Walter has fed and bathed Nell and put her to bed - it all went swimmingly. But as Walter moves off to clean up, his phone beeps a message, which Sonya reads. It's mysterious, disturbing and leaves Sonya convinced all over again that Walter is hiding something.

Elsewhere, Steph struggles to balance parenting and her love life with Mark.
