Den and Angie's classic two-hander episode to be repeated

EastEnders fans young and old will be able to watch one of the soap's most notorious moments on Sunday (May 22).

BBC Four has scheduled the show's first-ever two-hander episode - featuring only Den and Angie Watts - for Sunday at 8.30pm.

This 1986 episode centres on Dirty Den springing a surprise separation announcement on Angie - only to discover that she's been diagnosed with a terminal condition. Or has she?

The re-airing is in celebration of the episode's late director Antonia Bird, whose life and work will be celebrated at 9pm in a BBC Four documentary.

In this 90-minute special, Angie Watts actress Anita Dobson will open up about working with Antonia.

Antonia Bird - who passed away in 2013 - also worked on Casualty, The Men's Room, Spooks and Cracker throughout her long career.

EE would need to be careful showing some of these classic episodes as some viewers may realise how crap this once great show is now!!
