Soap writers never research the workings of councils. Both EE and Corrie just make it up as they go along. They write about it from pure ignorance assuming that most people watching don't know how they work either.

To be fair, their storylines would rarely allow them to spend so much time going through the real procedures because they can't wait 18 months or more for some planning permission to be granted because (a) important actor in that storyline might want to leave before the conclusion and of course it would hold up a lot of other storylines depending on the outcome of this decision

Three to six months would be more like it. Eighteen months would be an awfully long time for a decision to be made on any planning application.

Never been involved in any of it so was just guessing but even 6 months would be too long to wait in a storyline unless of course you murder someone --

Thought Linda was more streetwise than to fall for all that crap off Fi to re-employ Whitney, and see Fi's motive. Also what's happened to Linda,s big secret?

It is good EastEnders remembers it's past, something Emmerdale want to forget and Coronation Street can't be bothered to get right since Daran Little left.

I still want to slap Mick silly. Poor Keanu, he is such a lovable guy. You have to admire his determination. I think Kush will knock Max out when he eventually finds out what is cracking off. I wouldn't want to be in Max's shoes. I wonder if Ben and Jay will fall out over what Phil is suggesting?
