It would definitely have been in bad taste if the crash had been based on the Berlin attack as some are saying. However, it was planned months ago and almost certainly filmed before the terror attack happened. Also it was a truck in Berlin not a bus, and as you say the EE crash was an accident.

I'm sure the EE bosses would have made some changes if it had been possible.

As you say in your post, there are many smaller storylines that will possibly start or be changed by the crash. If there's no big character death, I'd say the major fallout will be be Martin's injuries. I've got a feeling he's very seriously injured and that this is one of the reasons SOC decided to bring Michelle back now to help him (and his family) through it.
    bring michelle and max together

I know both the Nice and Berlin attacks were with lorries but I felt that it was too soon to this storyline, this is still raw for many people these attacks so I can understand the complaints even though this bus crash was because of the driver had a heart attack

This is just my opinion on it and I hope they is good reason for this disaster with future storylines

It's very unfortunate that the EE's bus crash bears some similarity to the terror attacks you mention. Some people are also complaining that it's very like what happened in Glasgow three years ago when a bin lorry mounted a pavement and killed some people (I think in that case the driver was also unwell). I would imagine if the EE team took any inspiration from a real crash it was from the latter. They were almost certainly inspired by the real incident that happened in London in 2015 when a crowd of passers by lifted a bus under which a cyclist was trapped:

The director of the episodes has said they wanted to do something which would affect and unite the whole community so that was the thinking behind it.
