Neighbours spoiler: A new clue to John's identity is discovered

Do the answers lie somewhere in Geelong?

Episode 7361 | Airs Monday, May 09 2016

Paige and John arrive in Geelong looking for clues about John's identity. A visit to their initial contact proves fruitless, and although John has vague memories of the city, nothing is concrete.

They decide to stay on an extra night and the sexual tension between the two continues to bubble away. Eventually it seems like they might kiss, only for Paige to pull up when she sees something - a photo of John with his arm around a young man.

Meanwhile, when Paul discovers that Steph is attending a party to celebrate Jimmy's victory at a chess competition, he asks her to bring his grandson a present. Steph does so and suggests to Amy that maybe it's time for Paul to be allowed to see Jimmy again. What will Amy decide?

Elsewhere, Piper and Tyler discover an old voicemail message on Josh's mobile phone from Doug, claiming that Ned was furious on the day of the explosion because he had discovered Brad was Citizen of the Year. Piper subtly questions Ned about this but Ned denies it. Tyler and Piper worry that maybe Ned could have caused the explosion.

Neighbours spoiler: Ned is questioned over the Lassiters explosion

Will he be able to prove his innocence?

​Piper and Tyler inform Brad about the discrepancies they discovered in Ned's story about the day of the Lassiters disaster. Brad refuses to believe that Ned's bitterness towards him could run that deep, until Lauren reveals that Ned was the one who broadcast the embarrassing images at the Citizen of the Year awards. Brad is reluctant to seek answers until Terese convinces him to tell the police what they know.

Later, Lauren reaches out to Ned and gets the full truth - but it's too late as Ned is hauled to the police station. Ned is gutted that his dad went to the police instead of asking for his side of the story.

Meanwhile, Paige gets in touch with Bailey, who uses his impressive IT skills to identify the guy in the picture with John. His name is Dustin. With hopes rising, Paige and John contact Dustin and discover that he lives in Melbourne. As their excitement grows, John brings up their romantic tension, clearly eager to act on it. But Paige is now reluctant to do so - at least until they know more about him.

Elsewhere, Amy has a big decision to make following Terese's ultimatum that she should cut all contact with Paul if she doesn't want to lose the contract. She goes to see her dad, and is stunned when Paul selflessly urges her to go ahead and cut him off. Will Amy agree?

Neighbours spoiler: Ben's tension with Angus explodes at the school

​Susan asks Ben to look out for Angus on his first day at Erinsborough High. Piper sees that Ben is unhappy and he shares that Angus stole his share of Tom Quill's money. Piper challenges him to take it back and the boys get into a scuffle when Ben is busted trying to break into Angus's locker.

Susan breaks it up and Xanthe is excited when Angus covers, saying they were fighting over her. Susan withholds judgement but is further concerned when she discovers lighting fluid and matches in Ben's locker. Convinced Angus has set him up, Ben lands a punch on him. Susan steps in, ordering Ben to explain himself.

Meanwhile, Mark warns Paige to step back from John Doe until she knows for sure who she's dealing with. Paige tells Mark to butt out, but we see that his warning has given her pause for thought. Her unease deepens when Dustin agrees to meet John, only to panic on seeing Mark in his police uniform. Dustin sprints off, with Mark in pursuit.

Elsewhere, Ned announces that he's leaving Erinsborough and resists both Lauren and Piper's pleas for him to stay. Lauren takes matters into her own hands and tells Ned the truth about Beth - that she tried to keep a young Ned and Brad apart.

​John is rattled by Dustin running off at the sight of Mark. Despite Paige reassuring him that it doesn't mean he's in trouble with the law, John isn't convinced. Mark adds fuel to the fire, also suspecting there is something dodgy going on.

When Paige discovers that Dustin has cut off all contact, John is forced to re-evaluate who he is and whether staying in Erinsborough is for the best. He makes the impulsive decision to leave, but Paige tracks him down and begs him to stay.

Meanwhile, Susan asks Karl to try and find the source of Angus's issues and Karl discovers he bears emotional scars from a home that has lacked parental guidance and stability. The Kennedys vow to find some way to smooth things between the boys and give Angus the support he sorely needs. Later, discovering how stressed Xanthe is about sitting her English exam, Angus sets off a fire alarm so she can get out of it - winning Xanthe's approval.

Elsewhere, Aaron receives a call about a new client. Torn, he informs Nate that if he snares the client, it will put his business on the map. But who is this mysterious new client?

Neighbours spoiler: Paul hopes Piper can help to clear his name

Paul wants Aaron to help clear his name. With the mainstream media outlets refusing to touch Paul's story due to legal restrictions, Aaron resolves to take it online. And what better blogger to take Paul's message to the world than the very person whose brother and grandfather Paul is alleged to have killed - Piper Willis?

At first Paul hesitates out of consideration for Piper and Terese, but Aaron works hard to convince both him and Piper that this is the best way forward for them both. Piper finally consents and the interview begins.

Meanwhile, Angus shares a kiss with Xanthe - but more trouble is brewing for the teen. Susan is suspicious about the timing of the fire alarm and has checked with Angus's previous schools, finding a pattern of disruptive behaviour. While she can't prove he did it, she lets him know in no uncertain terms that she's onto him.

Elsewhere, Toadie tells Steph that a person he's trying to protect Sonya from is in town today and wants to meet up. Later, when Sonya leaves town on a trip, Toadie welcomes Walter into his home...

The tension continues to simmer between Ben and Angus over the stolen money and it is not long before Susan has to step in when Ben throws a punch at him.
John goes to meet Dustin, the man from the photo but he runs off when he sees Mark in his police uniform.
Lauren battles to persuade Ned to stay in Erinsborough.


Thursday, 12th May

With John re-evaluating whether or not to stay in town after the set-back with Dustin, Paige scrambles to convince him to stay.
Karl discovers that Angus bears emotional scars from his upbringing and the Kennedys vow to give him the support he needs.
Xanthe is impressed when Angus sets off a fire alarm so she can get out of an exam.
Aaron's new business snares a mysterious new client.


Friday, 13th May

Paul convinces Aaron to take on his case and prove his innocence but Aaron is sceptical of success.
Ben steels himself to ask out Xanthe but Angus pips him to the post and when the pair go to a gig together he lays on the charm.
Toadie cancels a trip away to deal with what he describes is an old case but Sonya is feeling increasingly excluded by him and Steph and wonders what they are hiding from her.
