Bernie's comfortable life is thrown into turmoil when she finds herself working alongside an old army colleague. They had an affair whilst in the army and it's clear they're still very much in love.
But will Bernie choose to pursue the love of her life, or stick to the relative safety of her family?
Meanwhile, Serena is all set to embark upon a new chapter with Robbie as they move in together. But when she compares her perfect future with the bleak one Jason is faced with, Serena finds herself having to make a heartbreaking choice.

Elsewhere, it's Mo's first day as a consultant on Darwin and she's putting herself very much in charge. When she clashes with Mr. T over the correct care plan for a pregnant patient, Mr. T must find his voice and prove himself as her equal.
