Exactly why I said I'm probably the only one who liked them together
Coronation Street's Michelle Connor gives into temptation later this month as she cheats on her husband Steve McDonald with her old flame Will Chatterton.
Michelle (Kym Marsh) commits the betrayal on her 40th birthday as she laments the fact that Steve can't be bothered to return from Spain for her special day.
The milestone birthday starts off badly for Michelle when she receives a surprise bouquet of flowers and is heartbroken to see that they're from Will (Leon Ockenden) rather than Steve.
Things get even worse when she receives word that Steve is returning home after all, only to be left disappointed when he isn't on his planned flight.
Now convinced that Steve no longer cares about her, Michelle heads to Will's house on the rebound. After they kiss passionately, it's not long before the pair go upstairs together.

Just when it seems that they're about to spend the night together, Michelle finally comes to her senses and pushes Will away.
Totally guilt-ridden, how will Michelle react when she returns home to find Steve waiting for her?

I'm probably going to get some stick for this, but I actually don't blame Michelle for being tempted to cheat. Steve has effectively abandoned her and has been living it up abroad for months, apparently without giving her a second thought.
I don't know how the writers are going to explain his cruel behaviour. Perhaps his depression has resurfaced and he's hiding it by pretending to be living it up in Spain?
That is down to scriptwriting ... for so many months Michelle has just concentrated on her work...yes, she feels lonely, abandoned .. angry at times.... some Army wives don´t see their husbands for 6 months or even longer, yes, some cheat but I would have loved to have seen a soap to shew long termn absentism does not need to lead to cheating
