Kylie Minogue's on-screen Neighbours daughter Sarah Ellen will be showing off her own musical talents in the show next week.

Yep, in a moment that's sure to create a buzz among the show's fans, Sarah's character Madison Robinson belts out a song during a live music night at The Waterhole.

And – spoiler alert – it turns out that Madison is actually rather good. Who knew?

The storyline begins when Terese Willis instructs Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson) to find a talented singer to perform at the local bar.

Aaron manages to secure the talents of experienced singer Rhonda Riley, but his efforts are quickly undermined by scheming Paul Robinson, who'll still try anything to sabotage Terese.

Using his usual cunning charm, Paul weasels his way into Rhonda's hotel room and bribes her to delay her arrival at the event – potentially ruining Terese's big night.

When Rhonda is nowhere to be seen, Aaron resorts to Plan B by trying to convince Madison to perform as a support act while they try to find Rhonda.

Madison initially refuses as she's gripped by stage fright, but with everything riding on her, she gets pressured into performing.

The good news is that she has no need to be nervous, as the crowd fall in love with her instantly when they hear how amazing she is.

As for Rhonda? Well, when she finally bothers to turn up, she gets a nasty surprise as she sees that her crown has already been claimed by a brand new singing star. Serves her right for listening to Paul!

But can Madison be convinced to make this arrangement more of a regular thing? Aaron may have a battle on his hands if he expects a repeat performance.

Madison is the daughter of Neighbours' most iconic couple Scott and Charlene Robinson. Sarah has been appearing in the role on and off since April.

How painful was the build up to her "performance"? I can't believe I'm saying this but I'd have preferred Karl and one of his river songs. She's adorable but has zero charisma.
