Coronation Street has confirmed plans to bring back Michelle Connor's ex-lover Will, as well as introducing someone from her partner Robert Preston's past.

Mr Selfridge and Waterloo Road star Leon Ockenden was cast as Michelle's old flame Will last year, throwing her marriage to Steve into jeopardy as she was tempted to betray him.

Michelle did end up cheating on Steve when she shared a passionate kiss with Will, but eventually came to her senses and didn't take it any further.

Of course, everything has changed now given that Steve has fathered a baby with Leanne Battersby and Michelle has since moved on with Robert. But Will's reappearance will leave fans fearing that Robert could get his heart broken if Michelle is tempted by her ex again.

Robert will also have some big decisions to make when someone from his own past turns up in Weatherfield, in a story that is set to test his loyalty to Michelle.

Speaking at a Coronation Street press event today (May 26), show boss Kate Oates said: "We have got some great stuff coming up with Robert and Michelle.

"They have got a challenge when somebody from Robert's past comes back, which will see them facing their first problem together. That will be a test of how strong a partnership they are.

"Michelle's ex Will is also coming back, so we've got two people from their pasts coming in. "
