It's Zosia's birthday and while Ollie has planned a few low-key snippets for the staff room, Guy has gone to town with balloons, banners and cake. Ollie can't help feel his efforts are being outshone.
When army medic Bernie Wolfe is brought to Holby with cardiac problems and an unstable neck, both Guy and Ollie are paged for the case. After making their assessments, they clash over the best course of treatment. Guy refuses to operate on her spine if her heart might rupture, but Ollie won't operate on her chest if her spinal chord is at risk.
Bernie interrupts and suggests they both operate at the same time - but neither is keen on the idea, with Guy hinting Ollie isn't up to the job! Can they keep it civil to ensure the patient's best outcome?

Meanwhile, still reeling after the discovery of a family secret, Serena struggles to put her personal life before her professional duties. Can Robbie help her engage with her past?
