Exclamation Holby City 12th January 2016

With a documentary crew films an in-depth look at neurosurgery at Holby, Guy is struggling with his inner demons. In the pursuit of success, he puts his friend in danger.

Essie's obsession with checking diary dates is explained when she takes a pregnancy test. But before she can digest the result, she becomes involved in the complex case of an adopted man who wants to donate one of his kidneys to his birth mother.

Arthur is alarmed when Morven suggests that they keep their new relationship secret at work, and reluctantly agrees. But is he good at keeping secrets?

Hanssen is forced to face the consequences of leaving his family in Sweden when a young homeless man with a secret gets under his skin.

Meanwhile, no longer Morven's mentor and free from his anxiety disorder, Arthur actively seeks a new purpose. But when Arthur lashes out at a patient's relative, Morven and Raf suspect that he may not be fully recovered - or is there something else?

Elsewhere, Essie is excluded from a Levy family party. Ignited by Hanssen's advice, Sacha commits to finding out why and is shocked by what he uncovers.

Also this week, Jac is suddenly called on to be innovative by Hanssen but is daunted by the legacy of Elliot's genius. Does a patient's passion hold the key to unlocking Jac's creativity, or is it just a lot of hot air?
